An idea for posters (ATS Capture the Flag)

Please delete if this is irrelevant, or if im overstepping my boundaries; I haven't been posting all that long, but after reading the thread "Transparency on the fate of ATS" I had an idea to maybe spruce up the place we love so much (ive been lurking for almost 10 years now o.o).

[may I please clarify that this whole idea was meant to be open ended for everyone and my intention was to create non political content seeing as how some of the other boards are hurting right now] I do think a free for all would be more fun, however.

My idea is a flag contest that MAY OR MAY NOT place a restriction on current event political posts, and if you post a political thread, then you risk the chance of being "voted off the island" in the contest or maybe exclude political posts altogether (although i realize this is a conspiracy site and a lot of conspiracies would be political; I would need help with this). At the end, the best poster would receive a prize. Also, the winner can also choose not to receive a prize. (or maybe an ATS capture the flag winner icon/avatar that someone designs)

Maybe some sort of bonus (that someone else could come up with) for flags in less populated forums (let's see some more good 2012 posts!), and a limit of 1 thread eligible for the contest per week per user. I just kind of wanted to seed this idea as Im kind of busy but would love to help out the Philosophy and Metaphysics forum.

Also I can forsee this being a TERRIBLE magnet for spam, but I know a lot of people here are capable of great threads, and honestly ATS is where I go to figure it out or find great content and share with my friends I've had on the internet for years. Probably would be a good idea to close entrance to the contest after a registration period.

Thoughts?

Actually my idea is do away with the "Mudpit" and bring back the official debate forum under the same rules as before .

Why is restricting people's right and ability to present political opinions a good thing?

because S&Fs are MUCH easier to get in political forums because of the time. Sorry for not clarifying; it's just kind of how my gamer mind thinks. How do you get the most points? you do something easier repetetively. You could literally just post a link from some news source for your ~4 threads in a month and probably come close to 75% of the score of someone who actually is putting time into their threads. Sound like the dnc... 1v1 me in mario kart, brah.

it isnt a censorship plan, its just a plan to get some good threads. Im not even thinking that way. I actually came here regulary for everything except the political posting in the beginning. I dont care if political threads are excluded, they can be included for all I care; dare ye think out of the box or stick to what you're good at? it doesnt matter to me, really. I would very much enjoy a journalistic approach to this. Also, if this happens for some reason (with political threads included) I would love the competition, really. From a competitive standpoint I would actually like to include any kind of thread thinking about it; but for to berate my compassion for this site and say it's political makes me want to call you a semicolon. (even though i use the heck out of semicolons)

honestly this garbage rhetoric is why I would just say forget and work on a forum of my own. Im capable, but i have grown weary of change in my habits. If you think i can survive and function with the personality you have cast upon me then you're mistaken; someone that assuming and challenged wouldn't be able to even use the internet.
