Head of MUFON arrested

Jan Harzan has been arrested on accounts of child solicitation charges.
Apparently he tried luring a 13 year old to meet him - who was really an agent
He was arrested on July 3rd, and we are just hearing about it now.
So far MUFON HQ has not issued a public statement.


I can speak on behalf of MUFON Canada,
MUFON Canada condemns this behaviour and anyone associated with it.
We are just as shocked with this news as everyone else.

This pedophilia is everywhere isn't it. This isn't going to go away without a world war.

I hate to say this, but maybe a person in MUFON will take charge now that focuses on collecting facts from cases rather then opinions from hacks.

Sadly though this might be a very bad thing for the UFO community since it can be used as another attack of UAP/UFO researcher as "Peddlers in Conspiracy Theories". Hopefully enough level headed minds will allow this the be a big ol' nothin in the grand schemes of things.

On the flippy side, doesn't it seem weird that this would happen when the public desire for disclosure is nearly a all time high, and it looks like the US Government is going to dump a lot of files on the subject? Seems a little like "watch this hand, while the other is doing something else".

You get weirdos and pervs in any field, business, etc. Unless the business is suspected of being a front for that, then rarely will people associate some perv with where he worked unless they were trying to cover it up (like the catholic church).

Yeah, because war is the answer. Refugee children get exploited worse than any other group of children. If you want this nonsense to end, people need to quit pussy-footing around the issue and come out and talk about it. Then the people doing it will less comfortable about practicing it when they know that other will openly call them out for it. Instead you get a lot of people who don't want anyone to discuss this issue because it might offend someone. I say good, offend people, expose this kind of crap for what it is.

Anyways, this is the UFO forum, so maybe we should be talking about using this incident as a reform movement within the UAP/UFO research community, or at the very least discuss if these charges are even real or a setup.

I wouldn't say GMax, but if Harry Reid or John Podesta felt like they were at risk then maybe. Crap even Hillary might have thought this one out a little given her interest in the whole UFO topic.

We don't get any funding from MUFON USA.

Some kids are abused without the perp using their bits, but I agree that one shot between the eyes would be appropriate.

The ufo community? I always hear this phrase, the ufo community. There is no ufo community. There is no rule of law when it comes to ufo’s. The ufo community is like punk rock. It’s like kinda sorta there if you look for it but it’s sporadic.

But I agree with you that maybe this is the kick in the pants mufon needs. Nobody but esoteric ufo researches really knows what it is and the entire lay out is horrible and not modern or truly user friendly.

This is indeed a shock. Would have never suspected Harzan as being this kind of person. Goes to show that it can be literally anyone.
First being this kind of deranged to even do this kind of thing in the first place, and secondly, having a high profile and public job and semi celebrity influence, and being stupid enough to do something like this with so much to lose.
