Yep, I flip almost daily between comedy and flat out anger. Regardless if you play the game, refuse, or try to ignore it all the psychological effects and consequences to come are going to be profound.

Everyone will be forced to wear masks to maintain a constant level of fear and an omnipresent atmosphere of sickness and death, as if the world were one big infectious disease ward. Everyone will be mandated to wear these masks at all times, at work, at home, in their cars, from pubs to any public or private establishment, even hiking in a National Park, everywhere. Anyone who fails or refuses to do so will be deemed “a threat to public health” and beaten and arrested by the police or the military, or swarmed by mobs of New Normal vigilantes and drones. As is glaringly obvious to anyone whose mind has not yet been taken over, the "apocalyptic corona pandemic" was always just a Trojan horse, a means of introducing the "New Normal" to reset the world which they’ve been doing since the very beginning.

Air travel to crossing State lines will require Public Health Passports or biometric chip implants. Children will suffer the worst torture from "social distancing" rituals to online schooling in front of a computer, phone & TV 24/7 for behavioral re-conditioning while cocooned in bubble-wrap with a mask. Imaginary digital frens, isolated, alone, confused, and dumbed down; all forms of sports outlawed except in your backyard with your digital frens while remaining completely out of touch with 'life' and nature.

"New Normalism" the Big Lie is a classic totalitarian movement (albeit with a pathological twist), and it is the goal of every totalitarian movement to radically, utterly transform society, to remake the world in its monstrous pervasive image. Their ideology is a pathologized ideology (as opposed to, say, the racialized ideology of the Nazis), so its symbology will be pathological. Fear of disease, infection, death, and obsessive attention to matters of health and paranoid lifestyles, among other forms of psychological torture will dominate every aspect of life. Paranoid propaganda and ideological conditioning will be ubiquitous and constant.

A glimpse into not so distant Philip K. Dick dystopian future? Hope not! I think eventually it will all inevitably backfire something merciless but, until then, who knows. I hope this is not a sick joke by means of "Nothing can stop what is coming." Much can change after Nov 3rd but I don't see us going back to pre-2020 normal.

For the last few months, I have been thinking about that old Isaac Asimov science fiction novel, The Naked Sun. It was published in 1957, but it sure reads like some kind of prescience at work:

The book focuses on the unusual traditions, customs, and culture of Solarian society. The planet has a rigidly controlled population of 20,000, and all work is done by robots, which outnumber humans ten thousand to one.

People are taught from birth to avoid personal contact, and live on huge estates, either alone or with their spouse only. Face-to-face interaction (referred to in the book as "seeing"), and especially impregnating a woman, when replacement of a descendent is necessary, was seen as a dirty chore. (Other science fiction novels examine the extra-uterine care of fetuses, but this is not Asimov's concern here.)

Communication takes place through technology unknown off of their world: holography, 3-D television. At the time, 2-D (ordinary) color television was a novelty, with very limited programming and not many of the expensive receivers. Asimov was a scientist with a wide range of interests, and was familiar with the principles of electron microscopes then being developed, and from which holography descends.

The Solarians have no modesty when communicating with each other in this fashion. In the book it is referred to as "viewing", in contrast to "seeing", which is face-to-face and dangerous, because a disease could be transmitted. Nudity was frequent.

Unfortunately "masking" and "social distancing" has become a religion to the vast majority of people. I've only this week come to realize that probably more than 90% of the people not only believe this b.s., but welcome being told exactly what to do and how to act.

So I don't see a backlash. Probably things will just settle in some murky, ill-defined uncomfortable middle after people are completely exhausted.

None of these people will *ever* admit they've been duped. They truly believe - like a religion - that they're saving the world by wearing their mask and using hand sanitizer. It gives their meaningless lives purpose. And people like us who see that this is nothing more than a mild virus are evil for contaminating them and ruining their hard work.

For the past two weeks I've literally been the only person in the grocery without one.

Or, as my girlfriend says, you'll never convince someone their god doesn't exist by arguing with them.

In my experience things go through three phases. 3 months is adapting. 6 months is habit. 9 months is a way of life. I don't see it getting to way of life for a myriad of reasons. I'm not here for that btw.

At 34 I would have had 17 years experience in the Military had I been a lifer. So 16- 17 years of experience would not seem like that person would be thought of as a noobie...
Now if he was a stupid Private like Gomer Pyle then hell no they can't allow that.
