Death of free speech in the US: How a terrifying revolution sweeping newsrooms sees journalists who deviate from the new liberal orthodoxy hounded out - while 62 per cent of ordinary Americans are too frightened to speak their mind
Former New York Times journalist Bari Weiss likens cancel culture to 'social murder'...
Bari Weiss slammed 'cancel culture', saying that people are being 'punished' by losing their jobs because they hold unpopular views
She told Bill Maher on HBO's Real Time on Friday that 'cancel culture' is akin to 'social murder'
In June, Weiss quit as New York Times opinion writer after she claimed she fell victim to bullying from colleagues who did not like her 'centrist' positions
She accused the newspaper of fostering an 'illiberal environment' and said the paper of record was among the media institutions now betraying their standards
Weiss also accused the outlet of creating a 'hostile work environment' for employees that had anything other than left-of-center views
She said she was bullied by coworkers who have called her a 'Nazi and a racist' because of her 'own forays into Wrongthink'

"THAT will get 'em going!"

I suppose most people would be somewhat surprised to know that the cause of death, as written on death certificates, is often little more than an educated guess...There is very rarely going to be a post-mortem carried out
If an elderly person died in a care home, or at home, did they die of Covid-19? Well, frankly, who knows? Especially if they didn’t have a test for Covid-19 – which for several weeks was not even allowed. Only patients entering hospital were deemed worthy of a test.
Was every person in a care home now to be diagnosed as dying of the coronavirus ? Well, that was certainly the advice given in several parts of the UK.
I do know that other doctors put down Covid-19 on anyone who died from early March onwards.
over the past five weeks, care homes and other community settings had had to deal with a ‘staggering burden’ of 30,000 more deaths than would normally be expected, as patients were moved out of hospitals that were anticipating high demand for beds.
Of those 30,000, only 10 000 have had Covid-19 specified on the death certificate. While Spiegelhalter acknowledged that some of these ‘excess deaths’ might be the result of underdiagnosis... He added that many of these deaths would be among people ‘who may well have lived longer if they had managed to get to hospital.’”
If Covid-19 killed 30,000, and lockdown killed the other 30,000, then the lockdown was a complete and utter waste of time.

Murray established the CIO Committee to Abolish Racial Discrimination (CARD)
In July 1943, Murray had established a permanent political action committee (PAC) within the CIO, the CIO-PAC, the first-ever PAC in the United States.
The CIO had endorsed a candidate for Congress in Maryland, and the US Department of Justice prosecuted Murray and the CIO for advertising the fact on the front page of "The CIO News." In United States v. Congress of Industrial Organizations,[3] the Supreme Court overturned the indictment and found that the publicizing endorsements was not an "expenditure" under the Act.
Murray also refused to sign the required anticommunist affidavit on the grounds that it was demeaning.

Too bad that California cannot be kicked out of the Union before the election … that could get rid of Pelosi, but I cannot think of anything short of that to get rid of her. Ugh.

She’s 80. Clearly not the pillar of health. She’s not buying green bananas either. She’s on the Ultimate Clock.
