I am pretty sure Kanye is Bipolar and the mentally ill cant be president. There is a law about it or something.

Kanye is in cahoots with Trump. His 'candidacy' is a thinly veiled attempt to siphon-off the Black vote to weaken Biden's chances. Otherwise he'd be running for the RNC nomination. But running as an independent he can help his buddy Trump and hurt Biden.

It's too late for him to run for the Republican nomination. Trump already has that locked up, it just isn't "official" until the convention. Even if West ran the table on the remaining Republican primaries, he still couldn't gain enough delegates to get the nomination.

Whether it's just a ploy to take away some of Biden's black vote, that's certainly possible. Knowing West's history, his motives could be more complex.

Biden doesn't deserve the black vote anyway. Democrats have done more to damage the black community the last 60 years than anyone, including all the white supremacist groups combined. Luckily, black voters are slowly starting to realize that.

Our nation's political system has officially become a #ed up reality show

I don't think so. That threshold was established ''officially'' in 2016

I think you're right about Kanye being bipolar, and it would certainly be used against him by his opponents. But to the best of my knowledge there is no such prohibition against running/being elected.

However, the 25th Amendment provides for the removal of a sitting president if he is deemed incapable of performing the duties of the office.

Some of Trump's top-most advisers have reportedly discussed invoking the 25th Amendment, which lets 14 people remove a sitting president from office. Here's how it works.

We should all agree to vote kanye just to see the epic meltdown the two main political groups would have.

Trump and biden would be holding hands onstage screaming, it was rigged!!

I think seeing that would bring the country back together. As we all laugh at the dnc and rnc like the jokes they are.

Unfortunately I think the most you could hope for would be to stop any candidate from reaching 270. Then I think the House decides the election, meaning Biden would be President.

I bet more 20 to 30 year-old hip-hoppers (or whatever that generation is called) like President Trump more than Joe Biden anyway. Did they come out in decent numbers to vote in 2016?

There is actually a growing amount of rappers who are more right than left and espouse more anarchy than anything.

Why would you equate Kanye West or other performers to what what Black folks maybe thinking anymore than Susan Sarandon or the politics of Justin Bieber on what white folks are thinking.

I think Kanye is serious, just because he has showed support for Trump doesn’t mean he likes the state of current affairs.
I do not think he will garner the attention of enough people to give him the election, but he will take votes from both of his contenders, so him giving the election to Trump isn’t a given.
I think a lot of people would vote for almost anyone else other than Biden and Trump, but not enough for Kanye to win.

I could be wrong because I remember thinking there was no way Trump would beat Hillary and I’m in no way a fan of hers. I just assumed she had it in the bag.

I'm loving the complete meltdown this announcement has made in the Dem World.

Proves they know exactly how fickle their base is.

Yeah...Too little, too late. He can run against Tucker Carlson in 2024.

You replied to my post.

I am not involved with the Democratic Party.

I am not even American.

It would appear that Kanye West, if he is actually going to be a candidate in 2020, would be running as an alternative candidate to Donald Trump, who is also running for President in the 2020 elections.

While I expect West to have a Republican Party platform, his running would weaken Trump's chances.
