The argument has been made here and elsewhere for years that government figures still have their First Amendment rights so what's the problem?
The source article stakes a claim on something as trivial as a police officer singing the national anthem at a protest.
Anything these days can be called a religion, and after many years of erosion of the very clear Constitutional wall between church and state (which
was, interestingly, to protect religion primarily) why would any one be amazed at such an outcome?
What is the biblical maxim? You reap what you sow.
