Mutual combat should be a universal thing. It’s sounds like both parties came looking for trouble and found it. What comes after that is nobody’s business. Do not tie up our legal system with it anymore than a finding of mutual combat.

Is it mutual when someone is attacked and they had to defend themselves?

(Reuters) - A New Mexico prosecutor on Wednesday dropped a shooting charge against an Albuquerque man suspected of shooting a protester and called for further investigations after allegations the protester was armed at the time he was shot.

Bernalillo County District Attorney Raúl Torrez said he had serious concerns an initial police investigation into the Monday shooting did not identify who owned multiple weapons collected at the scene, including knives, nor interview key bystanders and police.

Torrez dropped an initial aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge against Steven Baca, 31, after images emerged online showing protester Scott Williams, 39, holding what was rumored to be a knife before he was allegedly shot by Baca. Torrez said he expected Baca to claim self defense in the case.

“There have been rumors on social media about what transpired in the final seconds before this and we are actively looking into those and whether or not this was justified,” Torrez told an online press briefing. “The reason he is not facing that charge right now is because this investigation is not complete.”

so this one at least gets the expected ending of lawful self defense and it seems for now this should be resolved at least as far as the shooter but it seems the guy with the knife may have legal issued pending now that the DA is looking into him instigating it and score one for a DA who seems to actually want to look at evidence vs just going with what the headlines were telling us

Oh, where's the folks that thought the fact he was charged was proof that it wasn't self-defense?

By their logic, this is proof that it was self-defense.

Friend of Oñate protest shooting victim speaks

The guy with the skateboard is 39 year old -Scott Williams. I think. Locals said they were other antifa there. One thing I did notice is there is no further information on the victim. I don't think the victim is from here at all. that all I found on this guy. someone from KUNM said they knew him about 10 years.. something is not right here with this guys information.

so far his resume looks like this .
39 years old , skateboard , involved in music and has worked for social justice issues. = Antifa . but 39, guy needs to get a life.

Antifa watch out . Breaking Bad was a documentary about Albuquerque.

That's what was reported. I've tried to see what I could find out about him. Crickets. I did see a video clip with some woman saying, "That's my son."

Anyway ... have to say I'm disappointed in the way the militia has stood up to the tyranny and their brown-shirts.
