I think that it may have something with CNN and how they sometimes forget to state things that Trump is doing. In this case I bet CNN was going to say something like; "Trump has control of the National Guard, and refused to allow them to protect us" or something along those lines.

It could also be that CNN HQ could just have a good area to form up the troops and move out into the surrounding areas.

Oh that’s an easy one. I’m pretty sure those are Georgia National Guard. State controlled. CNN calls the governor who calls the General of the Guard who calls local Armory commanders.

Yep, except all the states National Guards are currently under control of the President. Remember he Nationalized them due to the covid.

Hey, I don't think this is true. I've been doing a lot of research on this over the last few days, and what I've found is that POTUS has to Federalize each state's guard individually. Currently there are three states under federalized authority. New York, California, and Washington State. I had thought momentarily that he put Minnesota under federal control as well yesterday, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Yeah. That was my question as well. He's a stone-cold idiot. He said (paraphrase), "in that case, I am pledging my support to ANTIFA. Until someone can provide me proof that ANTIFA is behind the rioting, I will continue to fight the white supremacists who are currently attacking my ward" or something like that. It was a response tweet to Trump's tweet about ANTIFA soon becoming an officially labeled terrorist organization.

His dad is the Attorney General in Minnesota. I would presume he knows the law. He just stepped in it big time.

Also, his father, Keith Ellison, a few years back, sent out a picture tweet showing support for ANTIFA as well. He was pictured holding up the ANTIFA handbook for the cameras.

Couple of morons. But I bet his dad makes him take that down actually. Because what he just did is a pretty big damn deal. Not just for them, but he just put the entire state of Minnesota in a bind with the law. Imagine being the Attorney General of a state and having a son who is now an admitted terrorist. Lol

ETA: Also, his father, Keith Ellison, used to be a congressman. He was the first ever Muslim elected to congress and used the Quran to swear his oath of allegiance. Not trying to bash Islam by saying this, but Minnesota appears to have been hijacked by folks who aren't very friendly to the US, beginning with their Attorney General and leading on through til this very day and having Ilhan Omar elected to represent them.

Not for this purpose. Still state directed. That’s why those NG generals in pressers talk about “Governor’s Orders”. State controls them for this crisis. This is no different than if a hurricane slams into the East Coast or Gulf next week, the NG would be Governor directed.

Just because the order “allows” POTUS to control things does not mean he is or will. That’s done so if he needs to, the order is already in place.

These city mayors & police chiefs outside Minneapolis should have held pressers on Tuesday condemning what happened, demanding swift action, and immediately reviewing their own policies and officer complaints.
