It's a question that just can't help but pop up in your mind. However, it's basically impossible to say because it's a false dichotomy. It suggests that in some alternate universe maybe we didn't do anything and then we can compare the differences between that universe and ours.

But we did do something. So whatever the final numbers are there's no way to logically conclude that more people would have died, less people, or the same number.

Remember everybody: post hoc ergo procter hoc is a logical fallacy.

If you take a look at the CDC link I posted you will notice that over 160,000 deaths a year in this country are attributed to what they call " chronic lower respiratory diseases "

aka , chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and asthma, that are all characterized by shortness of breath caused by airway obstruction . Those three common forms of death is what made this Covid-19 in the USA moderately deadly, I'm willing to wager a large amount of Covid-19 patients who died had one of three of those pre-existing conditions .

At this point I'd say agenda programming by Western corporate media is under orchestration by the CIA (and other players working in concert) -as for end games then thought this presentation was a very good one and made some rather disturbing points.

It is a little suspicious tho, the whole oil situation, the big players in the markets forcing a hibernation, and then (I am looking for the article, been looking for a few days now) the whole stock market being traded by computers ONLY.
I think the virus thing was real, but I think it was used to initiate something. Or, some people are just extremely quick and smart and took advantage of the situation.

A fair point doing nothing could have bad worse for sure.

60,000 American deaths

This isn't the first pandemic we have data on.
If we want to make a prediction, we simply just need to look at the past and see what went down, and what went wrong. When Philadelphia did nothing, and held a massive parade the Spanish flu spread like wild fire. That's a good indication that social distancing is a good measure to take if there is no other option.

SARs, MERs And Swine flu were a good rule of thumb to follow in terms of, implementing and suggesting social distancing, and testing as many people as you can, and then self quarantine those infected.

So you can paint a picture based on those situations.

You kill lots of birds with one stone in the current environment. One big one is Trump’s re-election being set back big time.

On top of that, you cut back on some resource drains via culling the herd. There’s probably going to be more domestic production of medical supplies, stockpiling and drug manufacturing - big win for the healthcare sector. Then there’s all the control the government can exert, behavior modification, etc.

Lastly - and I don’t hear this spoken about at all - is the obvious narrative That the US will once again “win the war”. America got hit the hardest. We had the most cases/deaths/etc. And what country brings the “treatment” out to save the world? America. Who is probably the one who did it? Gilead. An American pharma company. American Ingenuity and hard work once again saved the day. US is back on top of the world. National pride abounds.

Who brought this virus on the world? The evil Chinese. Who saved the world? America.

It’s this narrative that makes me think WW3 with China is on the horizon. We’re building the narrative....

Why is this different; because it isn't. It is radically more infectious is all. Let it run its course. Perpetual/purgatory/indefinate quarantine will not work.
Meanwhile (in an alternate universe) there are questions. If those Wuhan virology specific geniuses are working on a deadly virus; why not have the vaccine AT A READY DEPLOYMENT before your incompetence spreads it to world populations? I have never ONCE heard anyone refer to Communist Leaders as being the most admired *top of the heap* brilliant thinkers EVER LIVED in all of history documented. Why are they allowed to research anything at all..especially those things remotely related to splitting atoms or causing death by pandemic.
