Your numbers are off a little. If the US consists of 330m population, than 5.5% would equal 18.5m. Or 2.2m would be 0.6%

But that does constitute a number of individuals, either way.

Spanish flu eventually infected 25% of the world's population.

COVID is not the flu. It's not even related to the flu. It shares the same basic symptomatology as pretty much every other respiratory disease. Do you ever remember any flu causing a shortage of medical supplies. have we ever run our of ventilators?

Corruption and waste by bureaucracies leads to shortages.

From my limited point of at least, perhaps being in the vast US it gives a wider and more relaxed sense of engagement. In the UK vulnerable and completely healthy people are dying left right and centre, as it is in other countries. I think we’re ahead of the US but not by much, just on a smaller scale.

Heathrow Airport, one of the top busiest transit hubs in the world. London. Larger population than LA. Our town is considered rural and is only 52 minutes by train from central London, yet is around a quarter of the country’s length away from it. We’re essentially sardines waiting to be prodded at.

Don’t fool yourselves thinking it’s not coming for you because it probably is, that’s its goal hardwired into its DNA. Yes being out in the sticks is great but relatively we are all connected, even in the states considered remote or spacious. 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. One unintentional lapse and your lungs are being run by a machine.

That’s why everyone is shutting down.

Stay safe and prepare.

Some proof here, maybe, small nuggets... People are dying "with" coronavirus, but not necessarily "from" it. So we are being fed misinformation?

Quite a long vid but hey, people have the time at the moment, right?

very informative video and just what we need to try and figure how bad things really are. The guy is not a sensationalist and seems to stick to facts. Thanks for posting it. Not close to being done but so far so good.

If you account for population inflation; this is going to be much worse than 1930s

Unless a war comes and “saves” the day again

Saying that at this point is completely ridiculous. The vast majority of people will be able to go back to their jobs quickly when the lockdown is over.

If we stay locked down completely for 3-4 months, than maybe we could be looking at a depression, but I don't think there is any chance it will go on that long. Quite frankly if the government asks for that, I think people will rebel and they will not be able to even make that happen.

In Romania, they extended the state of emergency, with travel bans, martial law and all the stuff, until late May. It started mid-March.

Yea I agree with this too, but China, coulda done more, and someone has to be responsible for this, but speaking of politics, the lefties Will probably never blame China, their actions leading us to this pandemic.

China worked hard to keep it in their own country and cities. They were busy fighting a war, they were trying to stop it from being a world event when they figured out what it was. This virus may have been an escaped virus, or it may have been a natural virus that got into humans and turned into this. One person working at the food market is all that was needed to spread it. It may not have even originally come from China, it could have come from outside of their country.

China did not want to panic the world, if they had, and nothing happened outside their country, everyone would have been mad at them.

The reason this is a pandemic is because people are traveling all over the world, this would have been a local Chinese event thirty years ago. It is our stupid societies desires to go travel everywhere that caused this, the inability of us to be satisfied with just looking at a picture of things, the internet wound up boosting air travel because people were putting things on line and telling others how great it is over there. I thought it would be great to have a person just send a picture, instead it created a flying frenzy.

I can’t say I see eye-to-eye with this one.

Humans like experiences - and the world got smaller with all of our formerly-existing transportation abilities.

Some people also like experiencing different cultures, foods/restaurants, drinks, scenery, etc.

I don’t think it’s fair to blame human curiosity and desire to explore for all of this. And I also don’t think it’s fair to assert people should be satisfied sitting in their recliner on their iPad looking at all the cool stuff in the world without any expectation they’d ever be able to see it for themselves.

There has to be demand.

People might return to work, but if nobody gets a tatto, then tattoo artist are out of work. If people wear their tennis shoes a little longer and dont splurge for a new pair every month, demand drops.

This is causing people to re evaluate what is important to them. Extra money will most likely be saved instead of spent. People are realizing that they didn't have enough of a safety cushion for harder economic times.

I do not share your enthusiasm of a quick rebound. The demand has to be strong for sales to be strong.

Sales have to be strong for investors to invest in the market. Investors are already shaky and confidence isn't earned overnight.

It’s unlikely you’ll undo years on years of spending habit conditioning after 2-4 months of “stay at home”.

This also entirely ignores the notion of pent up demand.

I can think of 10 people I know who are scouring the web for cheap flights this summer, as an example.

If this last less than 4 months you’ll see the consumer come back fast - particularly once employed.

Anyone else here miss going to their favorite restaurant/grill/bar? I do. Millions do.

And as soon as they can, they’ll want to get “back to their life before Covid” and I suspect their do just that.

60 days in your house won’t change years of programming.

The recovery will be faster and with a much more significant magnitude than most appreciate.

I shudder to think what today would look like if this virus would have been allowed to run rampant. It quite possibly could have mutated by now.

Anybody with diabetes, pre-diabetes, heart disease, asthma or lung disease and a plethora of other conditions is at high risk of dying. there are 157 million, with 81 million have multiple chronic conditions, that fall into this category. That's nearly half the US population at risk of serious complications and possible death.

Without slowing this virus down, how many of those 157 million would be trying to find a hospital with space to treat them? Or supplies to do it with?

There's been a lot of speculation that the death toll in China is closer to 20-40 million than the 3,326 they claim. Looking at how high the death toll is around the rest of the world, and China's known reputation of hiding unfavorable information, it's a pretty safe bet they're fudging the facts.

People will want to get back to their normal lives but the question is will they afford to be able to... commercial real estate will take a massive hit as at least 50% of mom and pop shops will not make it through regardless of the so called care package.

People need to consider the death on the flip side of the coin the death that results from suicide from losing your job or stock account, deaths from not going to the hospital for an unrelated condition from fear of going to hospital to catch the virus, deaths from domestic violence being around each other 24/7 and if this continues much longer death from riots/social unrest

I thought the same thing. Yet, we were headed that way anyway, so it looks like they are just throwing everything into the kitty for a last ditch hope at a miracle.

Or just a diversion to have us all fighting for the impossible rescue.

My Dad always said don't expect anyone to do something for you that you are not willing to do for yourself.

I am an old fart. I grew up poor, in the country, next to a river. It is a bit funny that in my old age I find myself very much in the same environment I was in as a child.

It may resort to planting, eating off the land, and what the river provides. Working with, bartering, and sharing with neighbors. Worshiping together, sometimes outdoors under a tent.

Maybe if we learn something from this, we will do better the next time around.

Traveling all over the world and going on cruise ships will devastate our environment. Not just spread pathogens. People should not be traveling to Italy a quarter of the way around the world just to vacation. We do not have to destroy this world and mankind to have a good time.

I like beef, a hamburger is great, a T-bone steak is great. If I eat the t-bones all the time, then treat myself to the prime rib, that becomes my new norm. What happens when I start eating only Prime rib all the time, what is better than that. I won't want to go back to eating burger again. If that happens everywhere, they will raise cows just for the prime rib and the rest gets made into cat food or dog food. The price of the prime rib goes up to fifty bucks a pound and I wind up spending my whole paycheck on beef. You get addicted to that kind of life, my cousin was going on cruise ship rides every year for a while, flying down there to catch the cruise. Him and his wife love the cruises and they got some of their friends addicted. They didn't go this year because of the pandemic, they were going to go in February some time I think.

Think about that, He is retired, he has money and can afford the trips, but they are addicted to the cruises. They did not want to be inconvenienced by being quarantined, but they are home and quarantined anyway because of a lockdown in Michigan.

Flying all over the world by multitudes of people is stupid, it raises the risk of diseases like this spreading. I do not think that this disease is as bad as it is being made out to be, but it is still bad. But there are going to be more and more bad diseases in the future because everyone wants what they want. So this leads to more and more unnatural chemistry being introduced into the environment which leads to mutations in microbes of all kinds. The worlds balance of microbes is off now and it is just going to get worse. This is a much more important thing that the global warming scam they are promoting. In our near future lots of people are going to die because of our ignorance and chasing of our wants instead of being content with our needs plus an ocassional treat of a small want. People have made their wants their needs too, that is bad news.

We are headed to a great depression and pandemics and epidemics galore. Nature will soon punish us for our ignorance of common sense. Lots of people are guilty, and sadly the ones who truely care for this world will probably suffer the most.

Now look back at what

It is not the different environment that is the only factor, it is the frequency of the area which causes epigenetic alterations to how the virus acts and expresses itself. The same virus can hit one person differently than their twin brother, because that twin brother eats differently and his frequency is different. On top of the virus acting different, a person can just switch their diet which effects their frequency which can make them healthier or sicker. If a whole culture eats a certain diet, that diet may sustain them well under normal circumstances, but the virus can grow better when that genetic group people eat that kind of diet. That same diet in someone with different genetic traits can make them actually fend the virus better even though their normal diet would have made them more susceptable to a bad infection. That has to do with metabolism. Now for some reason the coronavirus was able to mutate easily when it got to Italy, a little change, maybe through horizontal transfer, and it got more deadly. That happens, it could have gotten less deadly too.

Viruses are live in my book, maybe many people in science believe that they are not, but there are also many in science that do believe they are because of some of the traits they have.

perhaps the Virus creature is a automaton

automaton
[ôˈtämədən, ôˈtäməˌtän]

NOUN
a moving mechanical device made in imitation of a human being.
"a collection of 19th century French automata: acrobats, clowns, and musicians"
a machine that performs a function according to a predetermined set of coded instructions, especially one capable of a range of programmed responses to different circumstances.
"sophisticated automatons continue to run factory assembly lines"
synonyms:
robot · computer
used in similes and comparisons to refer to a person who seems to act in a mechanical or unemotional way.
"she went about her preparations like an automaton"

I am suggesting the Virus class of life is a machine that is composed of biological chemicals but merely interacts with living cells in a electro-chemical way... like a robot or Automaton (like an 'Elemental' which are created in the Magick realm)

as far as different frequencies of persons, Yeah i'm with that, an example of diet causing susecptability to Viral attacks, yes indeed---I count myself as likely not being a victim of CV because I take extra Zinc suppliments (since last year)

Zinc has properties that 'block' CV Virus from entering the persons cells & delivering the RNA disease toxin

thanks for showing up in this thread with a unique stance about community spreading

The mass hysteria and social media obsession has made things so much worse than it needs to be
Even the place i worked in was takeout only, and doing very decently, everywhere sprayed down, distancing etc

Untill the snowflake millenials hounded my company (greggs) voicing their outrage and they had no choice but to follow the sheeple and close, leaving us on 80 per cent of our very basic hours!

So sick of this outraged mass hysteria social media BS which has changed the world forever!

Any little event now is just the biggest thing in the world, tweeted everywhere, around the world in seconds!
