Well...that and casinos.
I have a pretty good relationship with the local First Nations, but it's been pointed out to me that Zhaagnaash don't get the whole story.

First episode is indeed interesting. I notice that this hotshot scientist, (and he is very smart and educated as well as likeable), is used to having science and the scientific method stave off the unknown making it not dangerous if it is investigated correctly by the careful application of science, but then discovering that this doesn't really work out that well at the Skin walker Ranch.

And another guy in the show that scoffed at the "don't dig or else" warnings as absurd, (which under normal circumstances is understandable), plus the fact that main stream science in general has been built up over decades as superior and masters over the paranormal because those things don't exist, because we can't understand it or validate it using science, so go ahead and DIG.

And then being stricken by a bump on the head that spread all over the guys head and doctors couldn't find a cause or explain it medically. Says he still suffers some odd malady from that unexplained injury.

It looks like the next episode coming up this Tuesday they will be digging anyway. It's like the land has the most powerful curse on it the world has yet seen..

I can't argue that but this thread is full of some great info. Yours included.

I'll see what the comments are like here before I invest my attention. I have a personal interest in Oak Island, but I hate the formula for the show. I don't think I could handle another one produced in that manner.

sounds like they all go digging in episode #2 tomorrow night, so want to see where this goes, in addition to what is in the box!

Seems like lookie-loos trying to "explore" the ranch at night. Or, of course, manufactured drama for a tv show.

I'll probably watch, bit only because they cleverly lined it up behind Oak Island. I'm mildly interested in ranch stories, but I've been fascinated by Oak Island story for decades. I probably wouldn't watch that infuriating show either, if it weren't for that. Nothing wrong with making the show 30 mins (or 15!) If that's all the content you are putting into it.

I've been saying that Oak Island is a great half-hour of TV. I was out there last summer and got to interact with some of the team. I'm guessing that I couldn't do that at the ranch.

I watched the first episode and I don't think I'll be watching any of the others. The whole thing felt very disingenuous and staged.

Right from the get-go the new owners and employees gave off a dodgy vibe and seemed to want to show off continually (by the way, "Dragon" has the worst case of TDS I've ever seen.)

The investigator, Travis is the only likeable person in the whole group but even he at times seemed a little false, the "you oughta check your TriField meter" bit bothered me.

Let me know if they ever capture anything remarkable.

The second episode seemed a little better. Less of the flashy cars and dragon seemed a bit less like he was acting.

Im starting to wonder if there’s no digging since with bigelows connection to aerospace, perhaps some kind of hazardous materials happened to find there way out to the ranch.

There’s also a possibility the new owner has planted items on the grounds to emit all those microwaves or
Any other radiation so his scientists can get exciting readings.

All speculation but, all in all, the show got a little more
tolerable so well see!

The light show on the mesa was interesting, with the beams and counter lights that appeared, but the biggest takeaway I thought was Tom getting ill again, with that bad headache. I am wondering if it is possibly from the high microwave readings they continually get out there?

I would really like to know what was found when Bigelow owned it.
Probably never will though.

The weirdest thing happened while watching last night's episode, I couldn't stay awake!

I made it halfway through and nodded off. So when I realized I fell asleep, I rewound the DVR to the point where I last remembered watching, watched a few minutes, and fell asleep again! I woke up, they were on the mesa, so rewound to previous commercial break, while watching the most interesting part of the show, yup, I fell asleep yet again! I was trying hard to stay focused on what they were doing but they said somebody's name and my mind went on a tangent and then I woke up.

Craziest thing!

It took a few times, but made it through. Interesting about the laser going out. I wonder what those white disks were/are. And why nobody asked if the dude had his brain cooked by microwave radiation in the first visit to the hospital?! Yeah, a bit too much of the "Ghost Hunters" and "Curse of Oak Island" going on in the show but sure beats anything else on TV on Tuesday evening!

Beer? On my third for the whole night. Had dinner 2-, 3-hours earlier (could have been a food coma but didn't over indulge either). And of course, went to bed and couldn't fall asleep!

Yeah, the microwaves, RF or whatever. I suspect he just may be more sensitive to these things than most other people

Yeah not sure how that works but the two other guys in the hole were the professionals so perhaps they are desensitized to it? Or, Toms already getting caught up in the hype. The minds a funny thing.

I did like this episode better than the first, but it's still obvious a camera crew is not simply documenting these guys as they do their thing. Pretty clear everything is planned/plotted out in advance before the cameras roll, which makes it hard to take real seriously

Stupid 'reality" TV!

The people on the show are not coming across as likeable....at least that was one thing that Oak Island got right. And even when OI seems to entertain people from nowhere with some crazy theories, the main drivers of the show don't just take it hook, line, and sinker...which also makes them likeable.

What has this show done to make their characters likeable?

So we go from a show with lots of digging (oak island) and find sod all, to a show with absolutely no friggin digging.....what happens if they find a pirates treasure map, head of security Dragon will probably shot himself..😄

Just started watching Episode 1 and bailed after 2 minutes, but will return when I can find some booze to ease the pain. Based on 2 minutes, the acting is appalling, the OTT editing and muzak are as predictable as any other History UFOtainment offering, and, yes, the characters are thoroughly unlikable.

They find a dead calf...

"Is there really a safe place on this ranch? We're quickly losing places that are safe to go on this ranch"

What a bunch of whipped pussyos. Cue "Twelve weeks earlier"... etc.

Wait... a dead calf is all we have to look forward to in THREE months?

In fact, the characters are exactly like the victim fodder you'd find in any low-budget Alien-On-The-Loose B-Movie.

Just a shame we won't see any aliens. Better throw the calf onto the barbie, then, and make the most of it.
