"He who would give up his liberty for his safety deserves neither."

It isn't just some phrase people pass around to feel good. It has real, actual meaning. I'm done with this conversation. It's shocking to me that people don't understand this. These Governors are behaving outside their authority. I'm not interested in debating, or really even conversing, with people who don't understand this.

Have a good day.

It is just a phrase misused often by those who cannot defend their positions. It is supposed to silence discussion as an appeal to authority. Read this:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievanances.

What law has been made?

The Constitution gives the President the power to suspend all but Habeas Corpus. That requires an act of Congress to suspend.
legaldictionary.net... During states of emergency, such as natural disasters or periods of civil unrest, the government can use implied powers to formally declare a State of Emergency. Such a declaration allows suspension or change in functions of any branch of government, and gives the government the power to suspend certain rights or freedoms normally guaranteed by the Constitution.

Have a good day.

Yep, no doubt. I think that's where the 'activation' has become a complex convoluted mess. Making a corruption an easy venue for those looking to take advantage of the crisis. Every state governor has declared 'State of Emergency' on top of Trump's Nation wide Emergency, Stafford Act, and we're all still under 9/11 Emergency Powers Act, and every other emergency act they could pull out of the deep state vault. Power grabs & money bags. Some will be rolled back but I guarantee not all. We have near 20 years of proof. I'm not blaming Trump for this whole mess, this goes way beyond than just one man who cannot possibly know everything. I'd hate to be the one to have make such decisions and must rely on his close intel officers. Easy to blame much, much harder to remove emotions to make right decisions in this fluid dynamic situation and no matter what he does, NOT everyone will be happy about it... no way in heaven you're gonna please ~330 million people.

Think about the whole, not just the 1A.

The "1A" is literally our first Constitutionally granted right. The 2A was passed to enforce the first.

Yes, it's a serious matter. Deadly serious actually.

PFS, I'm going to gently hammer on you.

Constitution does NOT grant us a thing. We have that right inherent, if that leads to complications so be it. It "grants" the right to businesses and the systems in place to govern the business of business. Never let that go, the government cannot grant rights inherent within every living thing. Only god (insert definition you like) can do this - not a government or document.

Subservience to the "government" as a granter of rights is the problem.

In 1871 the government went Corporate altogether and shifted language etc. The creation of the FED put everyone into debt based bondage, where we were until recently - but for all intent and purposes still are in mind.

So freedoms have been "granted" in the form of removal because slaves have no rights. Slaves have no right to assemble unless they are given perimeters. Anything afforded to, or removed from a slave's life is done for one reason and one reason only: To protect the investment.

Of course all due respect my friend.

Where the jargon gets confusing is that law enforcement has the right to break that peaceful assembly if it poses a clear and present danger.

If the state has EVIDENCE that the assembly is a "clear and present danger" then great. Who at that church is clearly presenting a danger? The confirmed infection rate is a tiny fraction of the population. How is it more likely than not that a specific individual in that assembly is CLEARLY infected and dangerous? It isn't. So the right to assemble exists.
Similarly, individuals have not only the right to believe what they want. They have the right to free-EXERCISE of their religion of choice. Even if it means foolishly congregating amid a pandemic.

Hard to tell. I can easily imagine certain agency personnel saying, "Oh, they like to dig, do they? Well, let's give them some juicy digs that have no connection with reality"

Morocco. Wonder about that assertion.

It's strange to me that people think they have to meet in a building to talk to G(g)od.

That is an intermediary telling you how you may talk to/worship a higher entity.

That isn't freedom. It's institutional/organized religious tyranny.

You can talk to your entity of choice anywhere, any time.

That's what omnipotence means. 🙄

cranky, re waiting for DJT to hit 7,77m twitter followers;

1) The world population is going to hit 7, 777, 777,777 within 24 hours - it's currently at 7, 777, 560,000! Is DJT followers count important in combination with world population? I.e. one in a thousand follow DJT?

2) I wonder if the Q posts/POTUS tweets total of 7/49 the other day links to this count?

3) Is there some marker that eugenecists fail if they don't cull population before 7,777,777,777?

Wheres all the "It was God's will" martyr crap? Maybe it was "God's will" because he was an idiot?

But hey, peaceably assemble by all means people. Its safe! This type of # is why I'm done with these threads, and ATS in general for the most part. "Deny Ignorance" has become "Perpetrate ignorance because you think you're smarter than everyone else."

Perma-lurk from now on. Truly hope everyone takes care and stays safe whether you think it'll affect you or not. I just want people to remember that its not all about them. Over half of people infected are asymptomatic. Meaning you could be carrying it and not have a clue, and pass it along to someone, anyone, that could:

A) Have a compromised immune system, or other underlying health conditions and could severely impact their health. EVEN WITH PROPER PROCEDURE. Masks aren't 100% protective as it can enter through your eyes.

B) Pass it onto someone who also unknowingly passes it onto someone else, and repeat the rest from A.

Quit being selfish pricks. Quit being careless a-holes. The country is supposed to stand behind each other in times of crisis like this. If you're valuing your unnecessary church time over peoples lives then you are part of the problem, not some pseudo-solution to your conspiratorial issues.

Bye. 👋

I recall a long while back the hypothesis that additives to our food and even fluoridated water being designed to decrease the level of testosterone in the human populace.

The level of hysteria I am witnessing makes me believe it's possible that it just might be true.

I can't because governors are ruling by decree under force of law, like dictators and monarchs right now. They aren't laws. They are orders.

Look up the Hawaii order, for example. It is literally a "Proclamation". You are being ruled by Proclamation, not state law. "This order shall have the force and effect of law".
