It's time to start...

For perspective:

Before corona, there was a death in NYC once every 9.1 minutes

So now instead of 6 death per hour it’s 7 deaths.

Dark times, this virus have mutated to something else, 1000 people are dying everyday in Italy and Spain..
Here on ATS we been talking about Yellowstone disaster, big Cali quake, nuke war and asteroids... forget all that.. this is it, this is what will kill us all. A virus, judgment, this thing spawns out of a place of evil, a place where we trap and torture all kind of animals. Some would call this Karma, but now this karma hits us all. Is it rightful ? perhaps, the world already enjoy the absent of human activities.

Number is meaningless without context.

How many from normal flu? Other diseases and ailments? There are 8 million people in NYC. Someone is dying at any given time just from sheer numbers of people in the city...

Wow.
I remember just a few weeks ago I was posting on a thread about doing anything different due to coronavirus. I was of the "nothingburger" tribe for a while because I looked back on all of the other outbreaks in the 21st century and thought, meh, it will blow over.

I was wrong.
It's still hard to believe it even as it unfolds in front of my face--everything is closing, the economy is tanking, countries and states on lockdown, people dying at surprisingly high rates from this bug, hospitals/health care systems at risk of running out of resources, and it's happening insanely fast. If you would have asked me 3 months ago if I thought it was likely that a virus could suddenly crop up and shake Earth up like a chocolate malt, I would have called balderdash and made an asteroid joke.

But I would have been wrong, and I was.

Dang.

they were interviewing the guy that helped to wipe out small pox.

He thinks there will be 1 billion people infected and possibly 165 million deaths. Not out of the realm of possibility if we don't take this seriously.

Let that sink in.

Denial is a natural step to acceptance.

It's just sad that some members on here will have to bury relatives before they know that it is reality...

let's see, there are around eighteen million people in New York city I believe. So, one person per million people in the city is dying every day from this virus. Would these people have died from another disease like the regular flu or a different infection if they caught it? Old people die from any one of multiple different diseases every day. If they didn't catch this, they might catch something else.

It’s not just that people are dying, it’s the way they are dying. Drowning in their own thick mucus.

Sure we can shrug and say, well this is no different to seasonal flu, I did initially until I did a little more research. Seasonal flu, most of of us have some immunity to it, but a novel Coronavirus, crossing over from animals, no one really does. Sure, in most cases, mild symptoms are exhibited, but in the elderly, whose immune system is weak, the results are catastrophic in many cases. There are drugs available to combat the immune system issue, but the respiratory issues are another thing entirely.

Self isolate as much as you can, don’t be a carrier and pass it on to someone too weak to be infected by this.

I want you to remember yourself feeling this way 3 months from now.

Remember every word you've typed, and every person you've argued with.

Remember how badly you fought against the truth. And use it to guide you in the future afterwards...

6 months from now you'll look back at your post and realize how small those numbers really are.

Car accidents kill 90 people a day in the USA...

Covid is already passing that...
