NOpe, not into wasting energy and being redundant when Ozzymandis summed it all up nicely enough.

If it was based on the income amount before the crash I may not.

I draw an income from my 401 now. This is the time I saved for. And its tanking.
I didnt have any high risk stocks in my portfolio. Just good steady income earning stocks.

Blame China.

Then look up their past performance during the 08' financial crisis to see if they still paid out.

Then go back to blaming China again.

Then blame institutional investors effing over retail investors.

for people that can't work their full 40, or not all. 1000 isn't gonna do sh@@. it might pay for half of their bills for one month let alone three as they are saying now. it's sure not going to help those that live in one of the major cities, or those whose rent, house payment which averages about 1100, and rent in some cities can be as high as $1500 a month or better.

those that receive a SSI check their not missing their income unless the Federal Government Folds or winds up in some major financial disaster.

And... every cent they pay out to American citizens in the form of a universal payment will also work to stabilize the markets, as it works it's way from one hand to another, up through a chain of thousands of transactions, until it reaches "the markets" directly.

It wont be. Now I don't know this for a fact yet, but obviously you can't go by what you made on income based on a stock market that is now plummeting. Unless of course, you went from millions to less millions.

Really depends on where you live. My mortgage is $535 a month with taxes and insurance in rural PA. All my bills put together for a month are around $1100.

I read 2 payments of $1000.

Somewhere.

First one is sometime in April.

If they do it at all.

Of course, the disabled and those on SSDI or SSI deserve a stimulus check as well, even if they spend it all on scratch tix like my mom will.

As Ozzy has pointed out in simple but eloquent terms, it all will help the economy and the markets in the end.

Although I would hope my mom doesn't waste it on that money pit!

The structural deficit of your argument is breathtaking. Whether we address the root issue (or are even allowed to understand it completely) is functionally irrelevant.

Most government spending is pork and that pork distorts the actual costs/effects of everything controlled or influenced by it.

Two things that might help: reverse citizens united and come up with a completely different system for allocating committee seats in Congress so that it is not based on seniority. That is the only way to ensure we *can* elect someone else to rep us without cutting our own throats at the table.
