The alternative is what you've always been after.

When the Earth is subjected to incredible change ... and everything dies but the itty-bitty lifeforms ... and something in the cosmos irradiates the daylights out of the planet ... that's where you're gonna get your Evolution. It's gonna be fast ... and the odds are very low for it to happen (so don't hold your breath).

Who knows what you'll get out of it. But it will be of biblical proportion.
