Costco is a full acre.

But more importantly, you can buy much larger boxes of stuff.

So, packaging...that's the ticket.

What a difference a few days can make ! A few days ago I did our weekly shopping, a little on the heavy side ( full basket ) 1 large pk of TP ( 2 weeks worth ) and it was relatively calm. This morning I go to the same market for a few things I forgot and the place is a MAD House. OK...take a breath, it sucks, but I'm determined to be kind and thoughtful in a bad situation. The aisles have now become lines too, so it requires some common sense and cooperation to allow people to shop still by keeping your cart and body to one side, after politely asking at least 20 clueless people on cell phones to please excuse me because they were unnecessarily blocking the aisle I finally get in line myself that took 1hr. and 45mins. to get through....uggg..

I'm still keeping my cool, friendly chatting with lady behind me. In front of us were two women who had two shopping carts with some large items in them. So it becomes apparent that these ladies had a strategy, they got in line with two shopping carts and then they each went through the store gathering their groceries, the carts are now getting so full, one of them off loads the big stuff in her cart next to the check stand so she can STILL keep filling it !!! We've now been in line an hour and myself and others behind me are getting annoyed, rolling eyes, glaring at them as they continue to go back and forth filling their carts.

If this isn't bad enough, they are the only ones in line blocking the aisle, completely oblivious to others still trying to shop. Well, I cracked guys... I say to the one younger women who spoke English " Do you think what you're doing is very nice ? " She says to me, " what difference does it make, you gotta wait in line anyways " ...uggg...I say to her " Yeah, but I got in line after spending the time to gather my groceries, your cheating and being quite inconsiderate to the rest of us in line. " She smirks and puts up her " talk to the hand lady "..... She then starts laughing with the older lady, speaking in another language I didn't understand. They weren't done though, she gets on her phone and her gang banger Husband / BF shows up and starts glaring at me, while she continues to run around gathering groceries !!!

Really shook my Faith in Humanity...

LOL...glad my story gave someone a laugh ! Thankfully no need to max out credit cards, we have enough for a month and started my veggie garden already this year. Somehow I think that telling our creditors we can't pay cause we stocked up for " Kung-Flu " isn't going to fly. But you bring up a good point, if this blows over soon, which I'm betting it does, many people may find themselves with needless debt. ..... If your right, then I guess it doesn't matter anyways.

This would be hilarious if it weren't so damn dangerous..

Having been on the receiving end of a TP related attack, it's no laughing matter..!!

I managed to grab the last pack on the shelf at my local supermarket, there was one other dude coming into the isle obviously looking for TP, when he noticed my "casually", taking the last one on the shelf and placing it in my trolley, he quickly closed the 30 foot gap between us, slammed his trolley into me, sent me flying and garbed the TP from my trolley, then just kept shopping as if nothing had happened.

Nobody saw it happen, no cameras, no proof, so when I alerted staff to this, I was basically just told to deal with it..

All this S#@T (excuse the pun), over Tp..

What are these people going to be like when the S#@t really does hit the fan..!?!

At least I don't really need any of that crap in a SHTF situation, I can walk across my families property into the bush and find everything my family needs to survive, but how will these losers survive when everything runs out..?

All was very calm and well behaved in my little suburb. I'm pretty well stocked up. Always am because it's a cheaper way to shop. The cashier at the Dollar Store (they had hand sanitizer !) actually fainted at the check out. I don't know if it was from overwork or sickness but she went down with a thud.

Went to two stores starting at 8. I did get some of the last packs of toilet paper. Everyone was calm and even though the limit was five most people only took one or two packs. I even managed to get bottled water. Very low stock and they were out of many brands but generally you could get your groceries.

I could always tell the people just getting stuff to try to resell it. They just have a certain look and their baskets just have the low supply items like wipes or water.

Seriously
Who is hording the bananas !?
Can't find bananas anywhere.
It's not like they can be
stored in the pantry for a later date.
I like to keep a few on hand for the potassium, rather
than buying junk food,
but none, no where, nudda, zip

As for fighting over tp scary stuff. I tend avoid
confrontations, but if someone reached into my cart to
rudely take something I'd have to say something . . .
Anyways . . . me thinks u.s. will soon have
another e-coli epidemic , along with a soaring
demand for Prozac and lithium. (so much for enlightenment)

Saw your post, then looked at your avatar.
Became confused about why a cat wants or needs so many bananas.

Then I realized it's really time to go to bed..

Wasn't all that funny to me at the time..

Have you ever been hit by a fast moving Trolley full of Groceries..?

Plus, while I was down, I wasn't sure if that maniac was going to follow through with another attack to make sure I didn't get up in a hurry.

These people are bats#@t crazy, I wouldn't put anything past them when in this kind of irrational mass panic.

Perhaps this is a symptom of the virus? Mindlessly buying stuff that in reality is not so necessary. Bottled water? Is the tap water really so bad? If so, that's what water filters or purifying tablets are for. I live in country we're there are bidets and still they are stockpiling toilet roll. Sadly I think this is just the next stage of evolution.

Do people not realize that you can use a warm wet washcloth in substitute of TP, its easily cleanable, and totally reusable. Most people in Europe go that route anyway because TP doesn't get you nearly as clean. If you cant find TP, just use a cloth, its NOT worth getting in a brawl over. When did IQs drop so much?
