A year ago if it had been predicted people would be brawling over toilet paper 🧻 it wouldn’t be believed!
How bad is it going to be once the virus has a foothold? Not safe to go out.

I hope people aren’t going to be breaking into homes and taking their supplies at gun point. I’m more scared of that than the actual virus.

its my opinion that refuse collection - will continue long after a lot of other services have been suspended

a crew - only has 3 people - its quite easy to ensure screening - so that the crews are not infecting ech other

they already have a quite robust PPE regieme - and have almost no contact with " customers "

again at the landfill end - the biggest " threat " will be cross infection in the crew rec room - the work side again has PPE in place

ergo - refuse collection - will be one of the last municiple services to fail

If you are atheist, stock on the ones on sale or free copies.

It's going to br ironic when it's not this virus that does us in but the E. coli outbreak from lack of toilet paper.

Why do people think they need toilet paper any way, how'd that start.

Our local Marijuana dispensary had security guards posted...folks were STEALING THE SANITIZER at the door!!!

Well, if those people had any sense, and they obviously don't, they would have taken a couple of those rolls of toilet paper out of the package and used them as boxing gloves. They would have had a knockout.

One observation, modern mentality is such that our generation do not have the spunk or the loyalty that the generations that lived through the second world war had, instead of looking our for one another, helping one another, holding the door open for the elderly or disabled person today most people look out only for themselves, they are in affect members of NO nation, of NO society because they are completely me, me, me all the time and there is no us or we in there thinking when it comes to there nation's.

It is a sad observation but one that is very telling, divide and conquer, well as for the US you have most certainly been divided but whom is it that did this, who is or was or already has been conquering you.

Is it a runaway MIC, some elite dirt bag's with more money than humanity, some internationalist freak show's that may as well not even be human being's for all the harm they have committed in there ideological drive toward implementing a one world corporate government (that will actually be far worse than the communist states ever were to there denizen's) or perhaps little green alien's using body doubles while playing a game of monopoly with earth or non of the above - just a runaway outcome of idiot's pushing ideological ideals about capitalist society instead of understanding that ANY system when taken to the extreme's is a failure since people are not money and society is supposed to be built around them and there right's not those of big business and greed.

Whatever the cause of our modern ill society's the evidence is clear, we are not a patch on the society's that lived in our nation's just a few generations back, our generation is an utter failure and a disgrace as well as a dishonor to our ancestors and the sacrifices they made for our freedom - freedom which we have squandered by giving power to those that have abused and corrupted it for there own personal and often financial goal's.

See this for what it is, a litmus test of what stress our society can take, expect the worst outcome as some government's use this to implement long term (supposedly short term) emergency powers (the US is still using emergency powers that were brought in only for the duration of WW2 but then never rescinded because they were too useful to those then and also now in power), expect this to be used as an encore for worse thing's to come not the major crisis but the beginning of it.

Of course it may not work out like that but believe me even if it does not those with those intention's will also see this as a dry run on how to implement emergency measures to take control of and suppress the populations for there own power mongering plan's.

The last thing they want is a star trek like socially equal society, no they want an ultra rich on throne's and poor in the gutter society for one simple reason - power.

The theory is, the paper was going to be used for masks and not toilet paper.

I’m sure some will be diverted but it’s not like TP will just stop being produced. People are really losing their minds.

IF I was making a home made mask then I would look down the home good's isle, chip pan filters, vacuum cleaner micro filters etc would be a great basis for such a project but as far as toilet paper is concerned, well it may work but not very well and also it is actually very dusty so those using it in that way are likely to be inhaling paper dust that will also make them cough.

Look at how gas mask's are made, one way air flow design so as you breath out the increased pressure in the mask open's a rubberized vent and allows that expelled air out while when you breath in it reduces the pressure inside the mask closing that flap's and forcing the air to come through the filter instead.

I have not got the raw material's but you know it would be relatively easy to knock something up especially if I had an old DIY face mask of the type you use in the workshop along with your safety goggles.

Bit of duct take, a few holes here and there and an old can or two for the filter housing, bit of rubber to make the outflow vent.


OR you could just go the easy and simple root, two pieces of fabric cut to the shape you want with a the filter fitted between them should do, just a bit of elastic to hold it on.
It's the ergonomic's of the mask that are the hardest part, if you are going to wear something for a length of time it has to be comfortable.

Yeah. Humans talk tough but all it takes is a few idiots to panic and the world goes ape#. But I guess I've always known it. I've had dreams about aliens showing up and the result is always disastrous. Because as I've said elsewhere, it's not the virus, just like it wouldn't be the aliens themselves, it's the mob mentality that's so dangerous.
