Quarantine in US happening soon

I apologize for this late hour text, but I want to share what my niece sent to my family tonight. (First a little background on her) she has a combined twenty plus years between serving in the Army, working at the Pentagon, and the DOD in Seoul Korea, and she still has many friends currently in the government & military. I’m not an alarmist, but I would feel bad if my friends were not prepared & I could have warned them ahead of time. Do what you want with this information. The following from Crystal:

I have heard from valid contacts (my friends who work at CDC & Pentagon) that the US is about to go into Self Quarantine.

It has not yet been announced, but it will be soon. Once it is, you will not be able to go anywhere to do sales transactions (e.g., banks, grocery stores, movies, etc.)

Once the Shutdown is in place…you will have had to stock up on Can goods, frozen goods, toilet tissue, paper towels, enough food to feed your family for up to 2-3 weeks.

Please be mindful and plan now if you haven’t already to stock up on all the items you will need while staying home.

This is bigger than Bleach, Lysol and antibacterial gel. Please be safe and go to the store asap to stock up so that you and your families won’t go without during the shutdown.

I know this isnt the best info but all i can say is that I didnt fabricate this, my friend would never fabricate anything, as for "rick" i dont know him, besides the fact hes my friends mothers boyfriend. She was passing the info down to her son(my friend) and family. My friend forwarded it all to a groupchat im in this morning. Take it how you want. I think a quarantine is a dumb idea, but i will be better preparing for it now at this point.

Well isn't that just great.

Michigan has closed schools for 3 weeks work told us to work from home but not for how long yet.

here is a good article doing the basic math on timing of a lockdown... based on when the first cases in italy, south korea and china had their first cases compaired to when they went full lockdown:

To our knowledge, the quarantines began in Wuhan on January 22. So from the first patients to the initial lockdowns was 23 days. From the date the first noted illness became public to now has been 73 days. From the date of the first quarantines in Wuhan until now has been 51 days.

From the first patients to local lockdowns was one day. From the first patients to the entire country being quarantined was 22 days. In just 22 days, the virus had spread to such a degree that an entire country has suspended mortgage payments, stopped all non-essential movement, and ceased business.....

....And Italy is currently on day 25 since the first 3 cases were diagnosed. If it took China at least 50 days of quarantine, then Italy is potentially halfway through the worst of this outbreak.

We are on day 50 since the initial case was diagnosed in the United States. However, the first case of community spread was on February 26...first day of community spread, the US is on day 15

f massive lockdowns are occurring on about day 22-23 in other countries, that means we may have 7-8 days before we see major lockdowns and quarantines here...This would put us at approximately March 26-27th.

I would keep it to myself because it's all hearsay at this moment and serves no purpose other than to create panic.

I’ve also heard this from several people in the know and asked about it in the mega thread.

If anyone hears anything else about it, post it. I’m about to stock up on groceries just in case.

According to your story, "Rick," is not "Crystal's," boyfriend. He's her uncle (he say's she's his niece, actually, but same thing).

When I first read it, I thought you were setting us up for a punchline. My friend's mom's boyfriend's niece heard from her super secret connections... you know.

But it seems you're serious?

Another grain of salt in the story? Rick basically IDs this girl with first name, familial ties to him and her work history. Not smart and if I was Crystal, I'd be pissed he just burned my super secret sources!

I seriously hope your friend of a friend is wrong.

Halting our entire economy for weeks just because of the flu, is downright ridiculous.

My son had H1N1. You know, one of the 60,000,000 in the US. 12,500 died from it. There was no where near the panic for that.

Denver just closed schools for three weeks as well (nevermind spring break starts Monday). They are still running breakfast and lunch "pick-ups" for low-income families, which sorta poops on the whole "you won't be able to go anywhere/buy anything agenda.

It's always smart to have at least three weeks' worth of food and sundries on hand, but I am deeply suspicious of a nationwide (or even state-wide) enforced curfew and lockdown based on logistics alone. The only people that believe the DoD *could* look down the country with troops are the people who suck at math and do "gender studies" as a major.

in germany all schools, unis and kindergartens are closed for 2 to 5 weeks from monday on. it is recommended to avoid large crowds and to reduce social contacts. the company i work for recommends home office from monday on. everything is pretty relaxed here, but some buy the supermarkets empty without thinking that others also need toilet paper, diapers etc.

washing hands regularly and staying calm is the motto. and by the way: this is a problem of the whole world and going it alone is counterproductive.

Because she insulted a politician, yes. If a person is so wrapped up in politics they hate their own family members then then the Coronavirus isn’t the biggest problem we’re facing.

I couldnt care less if anyone wants to disregard my post and say its hogwash. I am just a honest man passing along info from a honest friend. I cannot speak for my friends family as i do not know them. Do what you want with the info, im gunna buy myself a food buffer. I mainly worried about being out of work as i do warehouse work and cannot work from home.

The US Federal Government can not shut down cities or quarantine areas....this us specifically a States right under the "policing", a massive curtailment of liberty workd be the case to follow...l look at the "Equal Protection"...Link (quoted below)
