Somebody in America has the hidden agenda of making China the number one economic superpower on the planet.

china just went draconian in an effort to stamp out the virus is the shortest time possible..

burying your head in the sand and pretending the virus is just over hyped, over reaction, nothing to worry about will most likely make the effects alot more long term, so really it is you who is trying to make China the number one economic superpower.

Really, i'd expect delaying the spread of the virus will prolong the time it takes for immunity to build within a population.

The time we spend under lockdown is directly responsible for the scale of the downturn in the economy.

Look at all those New York hospitals filling up with those barely sick mild cases of covid 19.
See how they pretend they need respirators and ventilators.
And those fake dead people.
Who do they think they are kidding right?

When did the flu overwhelm our hospitals causing a nationwide shortage of ventilators?
When did we have to turn the Jacob Javits center into a field hospital?

I think we have enough examples now. World wide.
Some start mild and get worse and some start off bad.
They are unable to determine who will get what or how any individual may handle it.

And considering the low mortality rate we're seeing, that is an important consideration.

I see them finally getting the idea into their thick heads that this is serious and to stay away from other people.

There's a difference between educating people and fear mongering.
They are educating people or trying their level best to anyway.
Stay safe, stay healthy.

even though over 1,000 Americans had died of the virus during the prior 6 months

1001 Americans died in the past two weeks.
How are those numbers stacking up?

I ask many people I meet if they know of anybody who has the virus. No one as yet has responded in the affirmative.

If you turn off your TV, the virus disappears.

Statistics clearly show that 99% of those in the United States who have CoronaVirus-19, are not sick enough to warrant hospitalization.

Frequently Updated CV-19 USA Statistics: www.worldometers.info...

Naturally, the number of U.S. deaths from CoronaVirus-19 are therefore, minimal.

Since the cancellations, panic, and hysteria in the U.S. are blown way out of proportion relative to what the statistics say, what entities are driving this overreaction? What do they have to gain?

-CareWeMust

hmmm.. Where are the stats that show 99% don't need hospitalisation? We already know 12% of those tested positive need hospitalisation and 3% need ICU.

We don't know how many have been infected but not had symptoms, because these people haven't been tested so this is just speculation. This is why we need an anti-body test to see how many have already had the virus.

It could be that not very many have been infected asymptomatic or it could be that many have been asymptomatic we just don't know and have no idea.

Your numbers don't mean much as long as there are very many unresolved cases.

Until today, worldometers showed the breakdown of unresolved cases for the USA as 99% mild (they fluctuated a little, as these numbers do), so, unless you're suggesting that a huge number of those are going to all of a sudden turn severe/critical - when it has been proven over and over that 80% of people who get this either remain totally asymptomatic, or only have minor cold/flu like symptoms - then your point is irrelevant.

It would only be relevant if the number of unresolved were borderline between mild/severe/critical. They aren't.

I'm firmly of the opinion now that this bug is extremely infectious - and that there are almost certainly anywhere from 10 to 100 times the number of people infected as are currently confirmed cases. If that is the case, then the CFR drops hugely - from 1.3% to 0.13%, or best case, 0.013%.
