I bet there are several thousands in USA alone, the administration is not testing people on purpose so everything looks fine and dandy. Flame away, I don't care.
Only thing you need to do is take a look at Europe. Same # is happening in USA as we speak. South Korea put an 120% effort to stop this and succeed. Europe is waking up, might be too late. But USA, oh boy oh boy.

Ohio Public Health Director said yesterday they estimate over 100,000 infected already in Ohio alone.

Regarding national lockdown-

Interesting I just saw someone on Facebook posted a message from her Lyft driver that told her the same story.

She posted it yesterday and it went viral on FB.
She deleted it. She then posted she believes her driver and said she had no clue it was going to go viral.

Alabama falling leaves three states left.

Alabama’s first confirmed coronavirus case is a Montgomery County resident

BREAKING UPDATE: The Alabama Department of Public Health says a Montgomery County resident is Alabama's first confirmed case of a COVID-19 infection. At a news conference in Montgomery, a state health official said the infected resident recently traveled out of state to a state where the virus is circulating. The resident, who was not otherwise identified, has been in self-isolation since starting to feel ill, the official said.

West Virginia, Idaho and Montana are still not reporting their first case, unless I've missed an update.

Greetings from West Michigan--I've been reading through all the threads/posts since the coronavirus discussion began here. Many, many thanks for all of the informative and thoughtful posts.

I don't have any new info to add, really. The virus is officially here, now (in my opinion it has been here for months, but who knows). I've put up enough supplies to last 2-3 months, so I feel very fortunate. I drove through the parking lot of the local Meijer store early this morning, and it was unusually busy for that time of day. I checked in at Cabela's for the heck of it--ammo stocks were low, and they were sold out of most handgun ammo.

Take care, everyone. It's going to be a tough few months for a lot of people, I'm afraid. I'm hoping I can be generous and kind to everyone I encounter in the days and weeks ahead. I'll post again if I have anything worth posting.

Well.....crud my husband has high blood pressure and is on 2 meds. He just refilled his 90 day supply. He is already stressed after waking up to the realization yesterday.

Plus the middle school in my area with a case is in my neighborhood only a few streets away.

The stores were cleared out last night. I went in this morning to grab more laundry soap. There was barely anyone but the shelves were empty. I did get some soap though.

The cashier said last night was "horrible." So glad for this thread. I was ready.

I just googled the two meds that I am on for high BP. Neither of them are ACE inhibitors, from what I have found, so it is possible that his aren't too.
Look them up to verify.
I bought olive leaf extract (it lowers BP) just in case I can't get my meds due to shortages.

Everyone is going about their life like normal.
No one is buying up everything the stores are all stocked.
Kids going to school. people going to work.
We have no idea how many those 2 infected or how far it has spread here.

Thanks I just googled...BOTH are ACE inhibitors. I'll have to look into other options. I have quite a few garlic supplements on hand and I know garlic has helped others.

While I live a couple streets away from one middle school my daughters is actually 4 miles away. We are on the edge of the district and she goes to a small town rural school.

I absolutely love the community they have started a No kid should go hungry thread on FB.
People volunteer and people in need can PM them and they will drop off a meal to their kids. Some are offering babysitting services. They have really came together.

Well yesterday confirmed my worst fears. Unfortunately my partner became very ill and I ended up having to take him to ER. The very place I didn't want anyone, especially us to go to. Life happens.
Much of what I saw confirmed my expectations.
The security guard was in control of the face masks. I asked for one which he reluctantly gave me saying that the whole situation was overblown.
The administrator taking health insurance also was unprotected. Interesting that her co-worker was as protected as she could be, wearing gloves and a face mask. She was Asian.
The waiting room was completely empty. The Dr arrived fully protected and wearing gloves and a mask as was the nurse. They both could not clean their hands enough. The nurse gave me instructions on how to wear the mask since I was wearing it inside out and upside down.
Lol. Really stupid right?
He received good and life saving care which we were very thankful for. It really hit home that if the Er's are overwhelmed he would have died. No question about that.
There were some incoming cases and what caught my attention were on occasion announcements "Face Mask On."
Also there were firefighters there learning to give IV's. His poor arm will be black and blue for weeks to come.
The hospitals are preparing but things are not as tight as they should be. All staff interacting with the public should be fully protected. They are our front line. Like I said maybe in thread 1 the first point of contact will be the administration trying to get health information for billing. Super exposed.
The next step was to drop him off and head to King Soopers for his meds.
OMG.
I will explain in a separate post. The takeaway is that the hospital ER should provide the necessary meds to take home. By having to go to a grocery store, a second step, just added to an already seriously overburdened food distribution system.
Now he will have to go for surgery and I hope he can make it before the whole system is overwhelmed.
Everything I have been telling him is hitting home now. Our over dependence on China for medication and antibiotics and the worry that maybe the necessary meds will not even be available.
When it hits home it really hits home.
I will of course take him but he is going to be in a place when he is most vulnerable and very susceptible to catching this virus.
To be honest I am really worried.

Colombia has 13 confirmed cases now, 12 of those were people that arrived either from USA, Italy, or Spain. The 13th one is the sister of one of those 12. There must be hundreds of asymptomatic carriers currently.

Also: Venezuela confirmed its first two cases. I feel sad about them. They have interrupted supply of electricity and water. It could quickly become a disaster there.

[Netherlands update]

Total: 804 positive cases. 5 new deaths, bringing the total to 10.
Scrapped flights from China, Iran, Italy and South-Korea (Really? NOW?)
Completely empty shelves at stores everywhere. People are panic buying like crazy. (I'm glad I was among us lucky people who were preparing ahead of time.)
Schools stay open, because they're no risk according to our corrupt and retarded Prime-Minister Rutte. (Obvious decease spreading.)
People are selling toilet paper on internet market places for insane prices. (haha)
Police are prepared for massive decline of active units due to COVID-19. (Like the hospitals were supposedly ready lol..)

Ted Cruz extends self-quarantine after 2nd contact

AUSTIN, Texas — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Friday he will extend his self-quarantine to Tuesday after learning that he shook hands with someone 10 days ago who later tested positive for the new coronavirus.“Unfortunately, last night I was informed I had a second interaction with an individual who yesterday tested positive for COVID-19,” he said in a statement. “On March 3, I met in my D.C. office with Santiago Abascal, the leader of the Vox Party in Spain. We met for about 20 minutes, sitting together at a conference table. We shook hands twice and took pictures together.”

The initial self-quarantine ended Thursday afternoon.

Things got very real here yesterday. I am always moderately stocked and also picked up extras here and there the last month. I'm in ok shape I think. It seems we are somewhat neighbors. PM if you get low and you can drive by and I'll throw some supplies in your car. We gotta help each other when we can. I am going to check on an elderly lady up the street today to see how she's fixed for supplies.
That panicky feeling is the tool of the enemy. It's hard to resist but know it's by design. We'll be ok

Omg, you are an awesome person. I sincerely mean that.

I have told my clients who are currently away on travel that, if something should happen and they can't get home, I will continue to care for their pets for however long it takes. They are wonderful people and I am happy to help out.
