Hi there Asala, just completed the Marathon and wiping perspiration from my forehead (30c in the shade here in New Zealand right now) but I finally arrived here and it certainly looks like the site of sites but at the moment just wondering and looking for where I can introduce myself - so I chose you for starters - hope you don't mind.

Hi. Name is Elderlight and very new. Cannot find the page with member centre so I can follow info in advanced avataring. Have somehow put huge face on and only eyebrow shows in avatar which accompanies my posts. It is bizarre and have not been able to delete nor replace it.

I would like to know what the term "troll" or "trolling" means. Stumped. Is it an animal, mineral, or vegetable?
I can't figure out if contextually meaning "mythical creature" or as in the verb "to troll"

Trolling is a play on the fishing method, just dragging you're bait through the water until something bites. So a troll is someone who will post often inflammatory comments in order to get someone to "bite" and pull them into an argument essentially just for the attention.

OK, yes, I am replying to myself due to the fact that I cannot edit the initial post. Member Center is not visible on my pages and is not under Tools either. Can anyone direct me to Member Centre so I can put in an avatar and learn all kinds of nifty new stuff? I really would appreciate assistance.

Okay i have a question that has been on my mind since the day i first visited this site.

How is this site, and the community involved, protected if people are exposing what they believe is true about sensative issues such as our government and such?

Protected in what manner? If you are asking if we are anonymous and beyond the reach of legal ramifications, then the answer is "No".

The best rule of thumb to follow is "If you wouldn't say it, in real life, in a public place, then don't say it here." ATS is, after all, very much like a public town hall or square. If I had access to top secret information I certainly wouldn't violate my oath anywhere, including ATS, as that would be risking prosecution. That is, unless my conscious led me to feel it necessary, consequences or no.
