LOL that Heads video - I've got musician/artist friends that are using this lockdown to create new stuff, really looking forward to seeing what they
do. I'm still working so no funtime/downtime for me.
Your post in the "other" music thread put this word in my head - one of my favorite songs back in the day.
Hey underpasss61! I hope all is well. Ive been listening and learning from your latest posts, you know more way more about this subject then me and
Im loving it!
Off topic, I saw a couple of your posts in the main "news" section and it looks like you and I differ occasionally politically - just observation from
posts.
I am hoping based on the tenor of our conversations in this thread that anything like politics wouldn't stop you and I from continuing our, in my
mind, awesome conversation - and forgive me if that is an obvious statement - I mean that.
Music can transcend.
"Hey man, our differences are our differences. If you are a good person in real life, a good neighbor, family person, community person like I'm sure
you are. then screw it - you like the Crow-Mags? I don't care about that other stuff. Come on in!" -ME 2020
I want to put this up because there is pre-punk history and because Wayne Kramer is just an amazing human.
I hope you understand my posting in the punk sense in that mass sees degenerate, we se poets and intellectuals.
ok, maybe not always, lol, but sometimes...cheers mate be well.
suddenly added: I believe this is the only true "punk" left in 1990. Give it a chance. 2 songs. First song is a fake out.

Absolutely music transcends- ideologies, cultures, time, you name it! No worries from me CJ - I think that like most folks here I tend to be more
vocal about my personal beliefs than I would be in a face to face situation. Living in L.A. you can bet that many of my friends and business
associates hold very different views than I do but the bottom line is we're all just people trying to slog through. Then there's the fact that we know
that none of us really has the answer or the power to change anything anyway. So, I say live and let live yet at the same time like Johnny Ramone in
my signature line, I remain hopeful

That was very cool - I'm not too well versed on the MC5. It was great to see Billy Bragg in there (an all-time fave even if he's about as left as you
can get!). I didn't know "Jail Guitar Doors" was about Wayne either!

Ween has some really cool stuff - they never conformed and stylistically they're all over the map which I think is awesome. They weren't alone
however, there are a couple bands around with that same spirit. My number one fave from that time was Orange County CA's Ziggens. They're definitely
from the same camp as Ween - check 'em out:
The 90's were the dawn of the punk "mainstream" with Green Day, Offspring, etc. All fine bands with some great tunes, personally kind of depressing
for me since while I believe they were sincere artists, it felt like a case of "standing on the shoulders of giants". The pioneers blazed the trail
across the musical landscape and got scalped financially for their efforts.
Be well and take care CJ and thank you for thoughts - like the old cliche goes we're all more alike than we are different!
Bonus 90's clip (actually 1988 LOL)!!
