Hi guys, Update from Chile. Still no virus over here (officially at least. If you ask me, I think they are lying).

He stated that the arrival of Coronavirus to Chile will be soon.

Some of the new measurements that are implemented is to make the persons that are arriving to the country to declare, under oath, the countries they have visited. If the declaration is false, the weight of the law will fall upon them. The end is to follow the persons that have been in countries with coronavirus present. (follow in the the sense of monitoring their health, make them wear masks, tests, and if any symptoms present are felt they will be moved to a hospital. (Note by me: He didn't specify if they will make them do a self-quarantine, which is odd, because he stated yesterday that there are 260 persons that arrived from countries that have coronavirus present are currently in home quarantine (I made a post about this). This is raising my suspicion).

He also stated that a Chilean couple that was in the Diamond Princess arrived the 24th of February and are being monitored and will be tested (as I understood) Monday 2nd of march...

All the tests will be done via PCR. And will be covered by the government (do NOT know if partially or entirely). He claimed that the test has a cost of CLP$85,724 (USD$105.47) (source of this: In spanish - In english

Also he claimed that if the virus doesn't get to a level of an epidemic, i.e.: no more than 1.000 cases, it will not be necessary to restrict the freedom of the people. Note by me: In other words, I think they are prepared to stop any social gatherings and implement quarantines

Also, 5 new hospitals with a total capacity of 1.700 beds are about to be opened. (Note by me: The hospitals were being built for months, they weren't built for this.)

That's what is new from this side of the World.

Yes, that story is exactly what came to mind when I posted.

I have pretty much zero confidence in this current administration to handle this crisis in the U.S. - it's going to be an interesting year.

I watched it all and would have to say this: do the opposite of what he said in most cases. Heck everyone in Asia knows you wear a mask during pollen season and the cold season.
Anyway, he did a great job for those around the world that are truly misinformed . He did say he had another 40 people in another room (war room) that are also doing a fine job. I wonder what that is all about. Anyway, speaking of the stock market, did it crash in Asia this morning?

I was about to post that exact same idea yesterday. BUT I think it twice and thought, "NO, it could be a BAD idea".

Why? Because if your government goes the same way China did, they might force you/take you by force to a hospital. So this might be a bad idea. Think it twice before doing that.

I’ve been to meetings.

On the one hand we’re getting pretty good doom porn from the CDC.

On the other hand we’re getting calm and reason from the administration.

I don’t know who is telling the truth and I don’t want to feed one side or reinforce the other.

I have a sneaky suspicion the administration knows something the CDC doesn’t.

Like maybe the situation in Wuhan is a bio weapon release and the virus is a cover up? That could explain it.

There could be other explanations.

That one fits the facts enough for me to strongly consider it.

What do the situations in other countries tell you? The administration doesn't have the mystical ability to stop the virus from spreading. Our testing has been anemic at best. First case just announced in the U.S. not from an already known infected source that didn't travel. It's already here.

How about they focus on the actual crisis, instead of blowing smoke.

I'd say it's more like the CDC are paid to be alarmist and go with the worst case while the administration will be more into the political aspects.

I'd say the likely road will run between the two somewhere.

Why would they do that? I'd say the CDC is hoping for the best, but banking on the worst based on what is being seen in other countries. But that's their job, to prepare for the worst. The administration is blowing sunshine and daises.
