Definetly going to be a hit to all economy’s tbh,
the reliance on China I think is about to come to an abrupt end.
even if the virus turns out to be nothing in the end the hit to the supply chain is certain to make most countries relocate manufacturing and production to their own countries in the long run as this has shown a big weakness that everyone has.

Been seeing several things like this just today :

Call me cynical, but the first thing that came to my mind is wondering how many of these companies are directly connected to politicians, their family or friends.

How am I a parrot buddy? I post new info as it comes out with links and occasionally discuss my opinion.

If there were cases in october then why would we be seeing a huge impact outside of china yet, it's taken months for it grow to the level it is today, apart from a few clusters all cases are separated in other countries, it takes time for this virus to spread out.

As you say it's all in China right now aside from a few deaths and ICU cases outside...

3 deaths outside China, two of which were native chinese from WuHan, the other an 80 yr old Japanese lady, and a few severe cases, many/most of which are chinese from WuHan.

Just to clarify...

It's not all speculation and wild claims, you're just commenting on page 344 of Volume 2 of this thread, so you've evidently missed virtually everything (I'm using hyperbole but you get the message)...

How long it can last on surfaces (up to 28 days): New Study Indicates How Long Coronaviruses Can Survive on a Surface

Potentially this virus could be airborne (unconfirmed): Coronavirus Could Be Airborne, Chinese Official Claims

All of this and hundreds of other legit sources and links have been included in previous pages (and Volume 1). It's not really fair to jump in and say this thread is all fear mongering and doom porn if you can't even take the time to look up some readily available info or do a quick search online.

Not trying to shut you down or discourage you from participating in this thread (quite the opposite, would love more involvement in this thread from all members interested), but there have been at least a dozen members who keep derailing this thread and saying this event is over-hyped, laughable, etc. and it isn't any of those things.

Many of us are here because we want to keep up with the latest and also try to contribute to ongoing research. Hope that helps clarify your perception of this being a "fear mongering" thread, because it isn't that at all.

Entire countries are practically shutting down. China has cities under Marshall Law and is putting their countries entire manufacturing base at risk

it's FOR SURE serious and not realizing that is plain willful ignorance

Seems Korea is also using a Malaria drug.

If patients are young, healthy, and have mild symptoms without underlying conditions, doctors can observe them without antiviral treatment, according to the guidelines.

If more than 10 days have passed since the onset of the illness and the symptoms are mild, physicians do not have to start an antiviral medication, the task force said.

However, if patients are old or have underlying conditions with serious symptoms, physicians should consider an antiviral treatment. If they decide to use the antiviral therapy, they should start the administration as soon as possible, the task force noted.

For the antiviral treatment, the doctors recommended lopinavir 400mg/ritonavir 100mg (Kaletra two tablets, twice a day) or chloroquine 500mg orally per day.

As chloroquine is not available in Korea, doctors could consider hydroxychloroquine 400mg orally per day, they said. There is no evidence that using lopinavir/ritonavir with chloroquine is more effective than monotherapies, they added.

This woman short circuited the electronic monitor she had put on her to flee quarantine from a hospital in Russia. It sounds like it’s straight out of a movie but goes to show some folks aren’t going to quietly go with the authorities.

Precisely my man... that's why I'm proud we have a lot of great folks contributing to the thread and hope to raise awareness to anyone coming into the thread late. It's no joke... potentially this could be something in text books in the future (it might already be at that level actually)

Almost laughable a single mortar strike in the middle east can cause market instability and a spike in oil prices but the virtual shut down of the world second largest economy doesn't register a blip.
I don't expect the WHO to grow a pair any time soon.

I assume most here did watch the WHO press conference from a couple hours ago? Just in case here is the link again, which was posted already a few pages back, somewhere in between the bickering....
who pressconf 13feb

I watched it a couple of times. Interesting turn on mark -12.50 . Dr Morgan had just explained about the new numbers. The question was for Dr Ryan, but he gave it to Morgan, who calmly answers. At around mark -12.50 Ryan comments:

"just to add that China is the only country to systematically report suspected AND confirmed cases".

but not just that,

Look at his behavior after this!
He seems angry at the journalist who asked the question, seems nervous all of a sudden, starts playing with his pen, touching his nose, taking out his cellphone, keeping his hands busy.... completely different body language than what he had before, and after he got a grip on himself again.

Now I don't claim to be an expert on body language, but I do know a thing or two from the job related trainings I had about the subject and IMO the guy is NERVOUS because of what he just said, or maybe it was the specific question, I'm not sure which of the two...
Take a look for yourself, I love to hear what everyone else thinks of this.

Foxconn Denies Reuters Reports On Factory Restart In China

Zerohedge

Shanghai has banned people and cars from entering the city starting at 00:00 on February 14 in order to put the #CoronavirusOutbreak under control. At least 300 cases of such infection have been confirmed in Shanghai. And at least one died from the disease in the city.

Zerohedge

Please note I used Zerohedge because Twitter is more actively censoring now but ZH has the tweets.
