I heard today workers have been instructed to return to work on Monday
looking for a source

Heard that too, they’re running out of medical supplies and the world has a shortage, the WHO put the call out yesterday for calm and resource sharing

Novel coronavirus 2019- nCoV: early estimation of epidemiological parameters and epidemic predictions. PDF Link

We estimate that on 22 January, in Wuhan there were currently 14464 infected individuals (prediction interval, 6510–25095), and a total 21022 infections (prediction interval, 11090–33490) since the start of the year. We also estimate 24 currently infected individuals (prediction interval, 19–30) in other locations of China on this date.

Should the transmission continue at the same rate in Wuhan, with no control or change in the behaviour of individuals (such as spontaneous social distancing) our model predicts that on 29 January the epidemic in Wuhan will be substantially larger, with 594 cases expected to be detected on that day in Wuhan (prediction interval, 446– 788) and 105077 currently infected (prediction interval, 46635– 185412)

This paper from 27th Jan. It was around Feb 1st that confirmed cases reached about 14.5K. This does indicate that we could be looking at about a week lag time from what cases are reported and what is actually happening on the ground.

This is really an important post I think. Given all thats happening and death surrounding them.. they support each other. I would only hope our own people would behave in such a way in the same situation.

Long time lurker here. Been following the thread from the beginning. And WOW, what a journey it has been! From maths gate to disinfo name calling, panic prepping and "my friends' dogs aunties second cousin told me, so they must be right".....and all in between.

Anyhow, who remembers the mysterious scientis /microbiologist deaths that happened way back when. I think there were up to 13 deaths in a short timespan and it was just after 911 so it really caught my attention at the time.

Eleven microbiologists mysteriously dead over the span of just five months. Some of them world leaders in developing weapons-grade biological plagues. Others the best in figuring out how to stop millions from dying because of biological weapons. Still others, experts in the theory of bioterrorism.

Just a thought, but imagine they were getting rid of the top minds in the field of bio weapons /biology and the like. To prepare for some future event such as this.

Things that make you go hmmmm.......

On a side note. Great to be back to good old ATS days before all the political mud slinging on the main page.

I am currently on page 151 trying to catch up on the thread posts that occurred whilst I was at work. Not sure if this has yet been addressed, but I see discussion on the virus potentially sterilizing males who become infected. That original conjecter was called out by me and as of the point I am in of the thread has not been cited:

There are other parts of the body that the virus infects like the testes, if you are a male and recover you will likely be sterile. Where this virus gets really insidious is when it infects the bone marrow and impedes white cell production.

This is the first I'm seeing this information. I mean this in the most respectful way possible, do you have any citations (links) for this?

kwakakev, if you read this, please respond!

(author's note: I used ex tags rather than quote tags so the entire above-referenced post would show)

Back to trying to get caught up. This thread reminds me of the original Fukushima mega-thread in how fast it is moving.

NASA Heat Map

This map link starts at Jan 26th and show hundreds of heat spots showing up around the Wuhan region from Jan 29th and onwards.

That doesn't make any sense, why are there no heat marks before Jan 26th?
It's really cold at night in Wuhan in January.

Other viruses cause sterility and temporary infertility. Usually its from the high fever. I think in the last thread someone linked that one of the patients had a 107 F fever. I linked the stats of a control group and it was high fever noted in most. However, a guy in Brazil had yellow fever in his semen. Mumps can cause orchitis and cause infertility. Several virus depress spermatogenesis... temporary infertility results.. like in typhus.

Good news is its always a more rare complication and can be temporary.

There is supposed to be a doctor inside the 1,000 bed hospital that was built in 10 days and he’s talking about how much worst it is

I did respond, hard to keep up with this thread I guess. I got that information from Dr Paul Cottrell, Youtube Link.

I am not sure which one of his videos it was that he brought it up, he has been making a lot of them since it all started. Risks of sterility from infection has to do with ACE2 receptors being present with some cells in the testis.

There is still a lot with this virus that is still getting worked out and it is going to take time to sort out all the facts from the fiction. ACE2 receptors are present in other parts of the body as well with the potential for the virus to imped the functioning of these parts too.

Near 7 years and 7 posts, eh. Welcome back. Ironic how many I've seen in this thread coming back from a long slumber. Sorry, just an observation, not mocking you in any way.

I remember that highly suspicious story. Unfortunate familiar pattern that happens more often than most people ever know. Russians are notorious for such suspicious acts on their scientists/physcists. Reminds me of the Marconi murder/suicides back in the 80's who were working on Pres Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program. Grisly deaths and many were so bizarre they left coroners unable to determine their cause.

Oh yeah... is that the same guy that was talking about the multiple organ failures and neurological symptoms as well?? That it wasnt only a pneumonia event?

This is the first time I have been to the NASA heat map site and I don't know all the operating specifications with it. What I suspect it that it is picking up sizable open air fires. During usual city operations, open fires are rare events and this is why it is dark for the first few days to help build a baseline.

I have come across photos with buildings on fire and buses burnt out. Once the city went into lock down and with a high death toll going on, I suspect things got a bit crazy and why all the spot fires around the place. The information lock down has made it very difficult to get an accurate picture of events with a lot of suspicions going on.

Maybe posted maybe not ?

BEIJING (Reuters) - The new coronavirus epidemic in mainland China is almost certain to become more deadly than SARS on Saturday as the death toll passed 700, health experts warned of mask shortages and more cases were confirmed on a quarantined Japanese cruise ship.
The death toll in mainland China jumped by 86 to 722,

The article goes on to say that as many as 50% who are infected do not show positive with current test.

Another three people on a cruise liner off Japan tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases from the ship to 64, Japan's health ministry said on Saturday.

The United States has sent nearly 17.8 tons of medical supplies to China, including masks, gowns and respirators, a State Department official said.

Yep, he also provides a good explanation of the inserted RNA functions identified in the India study that determined the virus is bioengineered. How the bodies immune system gets hammered for secondary infections to take hold is also discussed.

I was about to post the same thing. Its been making the rounds on the internet tonight.

To upload you have to click the drop down menu next to the log out button and green tachometer looking button. Then click upload. Can't have ad blocker running. I have ATS whitelisted but cant seem to upload.

There is a little down arrow in a circle along the top menu bar. Click that and it brings up an option to upload photos.
