We all have enough antagonists in our lives.

I’ve got enough to say — this is my last response to you.

You’re obviously getting a rise out of your negativity.

I know your type too well.

I don’t know who you are or what your into but KB does mean a lot to the American cultural environment.

And myself being a basketball guy and others basketball guys and gals and millions of NBA fans and just fans of our massive sports culture are indeed grieved.

Whether you realize it or not many folks in our entertainment admiration society culture do get a personal affection for the entertainers and sports stars even though, sure, we don’t know them or their families, but the emotional attachment is undeniable.

As a fellow human being who gave great joy to fans, indeed we all grieve for him and his dear daughter and family out of respect for his accomplishments and as human beings.

If there was a clear cut definition of thread derailing:

You just defined it with all your posts

Can the adults talk now?!

9 people died, including children...

And? Its relevant how? Did you know any of these people?

I'm not an NBA fan. But people were killed. know them or not, show some respect.

All of the video coverage shows a few first responders just sitting in chairs next to crash site where 9 bodies remain.

By no means am I a sports scholar

And I know less about basketball than any of the big 4 sports in the US

But Kobe left a lasting impression on me as a competitor

He seemed like a guy who stayed at the top of his game through sheer willpower of wanting to be the best

I don’t know how he was as a man, if he was a good person or not

But for someone who was an inspiration to so many to die so young and tragically, along with his daughter is truly sad

My thoughts go out to his family and loved ones

Like I said above, I’m a basketball guy. Indeed, if things wouldn’t have gone awry in my early life as a star on a HS team, no doubt, barring injury, I'd have been in the NBA.

I was raised drinking and sleeping basketball and the other two major sports Baseball and football. But basketball was my pearl.

There was nothing in the earth that would have stopped my rise to basketball fame and glory but of course the ugly realities of life, such as drug addiction, family horrors and the fact of injuries.

Koby Bryant came from that same space. But he was luckier than me. Of course, eventually not.

But if one is or was a basketball guy or gal, and a fan too, now all over the world, not just the US, one has to grieve for our fellow basketball warrior Kobe Bryant.

It's in our blood and in our soul.

The American Soul!

You do know the board has a forum called "PEOPLE" as in a board just for discussion about the topic of people... Dead or alive.

Mentalist. I don't see what you're debating here

He was just a boxer. Certainly to me me

To his family I'm sure he was much more but that's irrelevant. Athletes dying is not worth the threads in my opinion. Don't you have anything closer to home worth caring about?

You sure are spending a lot of time in a thread that according to you shouldn’t exist.

You haven't read Nietzsche?

Nietzsche ended up alone talking to his horse.

ETA: RIP Kobe.

Link to video of the crash, warning rather graphic.

www.youtube.com...

Absolutely horrific crash.

Anyone, any idea what it is that falls from the craft, is it part of the tail rotor?

Surely not a person?

You know that’s not the KB crash, right?

Either way its a sad end to the lives of nine people, including a wee 13-year-old lassie.

Poor Colin McRae went the same way as well as his five-year-old son and two family friends back in 2007 if memory serves.

Tragic news, I'm at a loss-for-words here. Two families ripped apart.

RIP: Kobe, Gianna, John, Alyssa & Keri.

Yeah, I wasn't even a big fan of Kobe Bryant, in BB, or in life. Still, I'm sad about this.

More so, the family who has suffered even more than him!

RIP!
