CBS Nightly news just showed a barrel burning and said "Tensions are Ramping Up!".

You must be very excited!!

No. Makes me angry at our war-loving/death-loving Mainstream Media.

Why?

Every time you get a chance, you talk about how you want the U.S. to take out Irans leaders

When I say obliterate Iran I mean obliterate their means of attacking us and their leadership if they dont surrender. Clear enough?

Strategic bombing campaigns seldom work especially against a disbursed military with a fanatical level of moral. You cannot defeat and enemy that is willing to die for cause on country by bombs away.

Ask the Vietcong about Linebacker? Yeah it sure felt good but we still lost

It's obvious who wants to start a fight, bizarre to blame media though considering media is there to influence minds and not take action. It's possible the member is unaware they may have been radicalized by media to want war with Iran.

Iran is more capable than Iraq was, and we walked away with a bloody lip and a big debt.

Says who ?
The media hype as it was with Iraq ?
You know , the 4th largest military in the world , and all.
Iraq was going to destroy the US military ?
Media folks STFU after the first few hours.

I have no doubt we'd decimate Iran.

But would we walk away with a bloody nose, and is that worth it? I don't think so.

I don't think Iran would practically surrender like Iraq did, so yes, they're more capable.

I suspect the Russians would not just sit back and watch that play out, they surely would have a hand in it.

You are correct. Russia would supply Iran until they eventually go broke then they will give up less they face full blown economic collapse and the crumbling of their societal structure and the eventual control over their people.

In other words they will help Iran and it would make it very expensive for the U.S.. But in the end the U.S. will win so it's in Iran's best interest to keep their hands clean when it comes to touching U.S. forces.

HOW TO DEAL WITH THE MIDDLE EAST MINDSET 101

Hi folks.

Jut a little primer here.

We're not dealing with another western culture or country who thinks the way we do, only evil.

The Middle East might as well be on another planet. So our ROE has to be different to elicit positive results.

The Middle East mindset respects power, strength, big booms, and hyperbole.

The Middle East mindset sees reciprocity, negotiations, bargaining, compromise, as weakness.

Let me give a small example.

Back in the day, when I was a young green little baby soldier, we used to visit bars and clubs off-base (in Europe) that were off-limits just to spice things up and because we were stupid.

Eventually someone would ALWAYS want to fight the Yankee GI's drinking in their establishments.

My friend, the really crazy one, had a trick. He would take a wine glass and eat it. Actually chew glass, drool blood.

It would ALWAYS freak out whomever was confronting us.

They would leave us alone. We would drink, sing songs, and have a good time.

Trump is chewing a wine glass, people.

It's actually respected in the crazier parts of the world.

It's okay.

Relax.

I'm sceptical...
The tweet states that Baghdad international airport is closed and all flights cancelled.
But I'm seeing flights arriving and departing. Egypt Airlines just landed from Cairo.

I call BS...

Here's one taking off now from Medina... why leave for Baghdad international if it's closed and all flights cancelled?

In Vietnam when the U.S. forces were told to take ground they took it with ease and held it. They were told to stop and go and stop. It was a political game between U.S. politicians. The capabilities of the U.S. forces were restrained in most cases.

I still think we should just have our politicians battle it out in a cage match to settle things. That way any losses would be acceptable and wars much less frequent.

Great idea right there. if that were the case when Obama was President?
Micheal would have to fight in the cage for him!

Can you seriously even imagine that bra? lmao

Russia is too sane to fight us, unlike Islamic fundamentalists who believe in jihad.

Russia didn't do anything when Turkey took down one of their pilots who flew a whole five miles through the tip of their air space... In fact they got closer after.

They didn't do anything when we iced over a hundred of their mercs either.
Russia is all bark and no bite.

Russia would supply Iran and use them as a buffer for a proxy war with the U.S. in an attempt to forestall the U.S. attack long enough to reach a desired negotiation agreement.

Iran is a paper tiger that throws out Clickbait claims to the gullible on a regular basis . Their entire GDP is only about $500 billion. They wouldn’t be a threat to Japan or even Brazil .

The problem would be like Iraq and a uprising by the citizenry . The thing is there’s already an uprising going on and that’s against their oppressive government .

If a strategic bombing campaign targets the military and security forces who are using live fire on protesters .

We would win their favor.

But that’s where it should end.

If the green revolution manages to overthrow the mullas.

Without a doubt there will be a more favorable government in place.

Let the Green revolutionaries sort their own mess. If we don’t put boots on the ground there’s no insurgency to deal with .

We learned our lesson durning the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Not all of the generals are stupid and Trump has stated repeatedly that committing troops like that is a mistake . “

He keeps trying to pull troops out but the neocons and the military thwart him at every move. Then turn around and use their maneuvering against him.

Syria is a perfect example .

“ stop endless wars “ he hasn’t been able to do that because of interference. But I don’t think he would commit troops in Iran permanently with a gun held to his head .

Trump should stay away from IRAN until the deepstate are all behind bars

Image how they would spin the news off civilian casualties and other such propaganda & conspiracy

Just sink their navy, bomb their uranium enrichment sites, and apply tougher sanctions

Job done for 10 years

I mean... In all reality, my airport probably shuts down because of fog before an Iraq Airport shuts down for rocket fire.

Than why are they a threat to us?

The only way they are is if we engage them on or near their turf...

Paper tigers to me are a nation so thin skinned, any time they're remotely challenged, they lose ten times their resources to prove a point. And it pains me to say that's us.

If we actually built our military up rather than over extending it... We'd be way more formidable.

Though, that's just my opinion.

Did anyone else see this?????

Link

raqi TV and three Iraqi officials said Friday that Gen. Qassim Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, has been killed in an airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport.

The officials said the strike also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of Iran-backed militias known as the Popular Mobilization Forces.

Their deaths are a potential turning point in the Middle East and are expected to draw severe retaliation from Iran and the forces it backs in the Middle East against Israel and American interests.

The PMF blamed the United States for an attack at Baghdad International Airport Friday.

There was no immediate comment from the U.S. or Iran.

If this is true and being reported on the AP it is a big deal....he was killed in a convoy near the airport.

Besides, what would Russia do? Get some tugboats to tow their one aircraft carrier into launch position?
