Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer: Favourite to replace Merkel stands down

The leader of Germany's main governing party, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, is standing down and will not put herself forward to replace Angela Merkel as chancellor.

Ms Kramp-Karrenbauer took over as head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in December 2018.

The protégée of Mrs Merkel was widely seen as her favoured successor.

Her decision comes after fresh questions were raised about her ability to command authority in the party.

Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to sentence former Trump confidant and GOP operative Roger Stone to between 87 and 108 months in prison after being found guilty last year on seven counts of obstruction, witness tampering and making false statements to Congress on charges that stemmed from former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

“Roger Stone obstructed Congress’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, lied under oath, and tampered with a witness,” federal prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum. “And when his crimes were revealed by the indictment in this case, he displayed contempt for this Court and the rule of law. For that, he should be punished in accord with the advisory guidelines.”

This one is absurd. Roger Stone obstructed congress in a (fake) investigation. Has congress ever prosecuted anyone for this?

Sentence seems extreme even for the rest. And the perpetrators of the Hoax have yet to be charged for ANYTHING.

It just so happens that earlier today I was reading something about President Trump being asked about the virus. He said, "we shut it down." This appears to be another dead ringer on your decode.
