Just made an account after many years lurking once going through this thread.

Once while living with my brother in an apartment, I had an encounter with what I would call a shadow person. I had never hear of this term until a few years ago.
My brother had mentioned a few time he awoke to knocking on his bedroom door and how he thought it was me. He told me the first time he went by my room and I was sleeping. He woke up in the morning and his room door was ajar after saying he was sure he had closed it when he went back to bed. He said this had happened a few nights, he just never checked to see if it was me after the first time.
A few weeks later he went out of state to work for the week and I was in the apartment by myself. I woke up in the middle of the night and sat up in bed. Near the wall at the foot of my bed was a shadow figure. I blinked my eyes a few times and it was still there. I felt like it was looking intently in my direction. I said in a strong voice, "You are not welcome here, you need to leave." The figure slowly faded out after that. After this I was just wondering in my mind if that was real, or was the effect of waking up from sleep. It felt very real to me. I asked my brother much later on if he had the same door issue anymore in his room, and he said no.
I had heard a friend I met working in an assisted living facility, she had told me that she had always had unusual experiences while working the night shifts. She told me that when a person encounters a spirit or entity that is not welcome that you need to tell it to leave.
I don't know how I remembered what she told me, but I just stated it in that moment and the "figure" faded away.
BTW I was raised Christian and practice the religion now the way I interpret it.

I want to go on the record, I am a disciple of Christ. I hope that is sufficient and will not go any further than that within this thread. A debate in Christian theology can be done on another thread.

This thread’s intention was not to discuss the power of Christ, enlightment, “the light”, angels, the Trinity or instructions on how to remove a dark entity from your home or from your life.

I have either witnessed or studied the removal of dark entities by many other faiths i.e. Islamic exorcism and removal of the JINN, Jewish exorcism using the Dead Sea Scrolls, Hindu exorcisim rituals, Africa witch doctors exorcism, the native American Shaman, Voodoo priests rituals/exorcism, and the Australian Aboriginal tribe cleansing techniques and ALL just as effective as a Christian exorcism WiTHOUT invoking Jesus, the Trinity, or angels.

I understand that it is possible some might have been misled by my method of clarification but there is a reason which I am keeping to myself. Pearls before swine kinda thing. NOT calling anyone a swine!

FYI:I cannot adjust to this political climate in the world, especially in USA and how people either look to find a reason to be offended or they are too sensitive. This goes not only for women but men are even worse! The pussyfication (what I call it and others) of men in general can been seen everywhere today and all over ATS. (MY OPINON)

So to wrap this up: ghosts (dead people) can imitate a real Shadow person under 7 feet tall, but a Shadow person does not imitate a ghost. I think this is the fourth time I am trying to say this. Shadow people can be 10 feet tall some even taller!

Taking on ghosts CAN be dangerous at times. Taking on a very tall black entity known as the Shadow person WILL be dangerous…. So when you see one of these MEN ….look away, close your eyes, pray to yourself for protection if you want, just don’t forget to start looking in the Sunday Times for a new place to live and move. If you attempt to stand your ground and take one of these men, I guarantee you will be fighting for your life.

Thank you for your response. Millions if not billions of people around the world, in all religions and sects, people have seen or experienced the supernatural in either a positive or negative way. Some people will even admit that they have had sex with "spirits" known as Spectrophilia (not sure if I spelled this right). Dan Aykrod, Anna Nicole Smith and other movie stars claim to have sex with spirits. These spirits are known as either an incubus or a succubi. I can't remember the female star but she even wrote a book in great detail about this.

Anyway let me continue:

A dead person known as a ghost can make you very sick and over time you can die. Not all ghost do this. Some want to be left alone, some want to help but for the most part they only scare people, then there are those who are homicidal, mentally ill, others filled with hate and despair that hate the living and are jealous of the living. IMHO it is the latter that are mostly here on earth.

Some ghosts can pull your hair (lightly), touch you (very cold), makes sounds like footsteps, coughing, calling out your name (either directly in your ear or right next beside you, they can poke you, push you down the stairs, heart murmurs, the feeling like you are going to vomit, severe depression, anxiety, nightmares, feel them sitting on your bed or crawling to you while you are in bed, just to name a few things. Some can give you internal pains and when you go to the doctor they find nothing wrong. Clean bill of health.

So why do they do this? There a few reasons, (1) They want you and your family out of the house. (2) They do not like your lifestyle and how you live, (3) They enjoy scaring you, they think it is funny (simply because they are dead, they have not lost their humor). I know it is not funny to the living but a riot to them. (4) the entity does not realize it is dead and the last (5) hate.

Then on the other hand there are evil, demonic beings that were never human, born in a dark spiritual world. They get their strength by feeding off the body and spirit of a human being. They want only one thing .... to kill you .... as they enjoy the process. They have few limitations and some have none. They can travel this planet (in the air) with no problems, known as principalities. They have no reasoning, they are not descendants of man. Light cannot penetrate these beings. True chaos.

So what is the "Big Deal? If one of these dark entities I have described kill you, he owns you... similar to some native Indian beliefs and why they for the most part will not fight at night out of fear of losing their soul but it is much more than losing your soul. No matter who you are....they can and will drag you to hell through a portal and THIS is the danger!

It is clear that there is life after death, my advice learn the difference if you can, learn when to run and when to shut up and accept defeat. Learn when to stand your ground and fight back.

Don't be a hero. If you are involved in the paranormal investigations "thing" I advise against it. This adrenalin kick has put many people into mental health wards and on strong medication for life.

Your very thread title resonates malevolence. You rebuke those who would inocently introduce Christ into the discussion to the point of derision and hostility. DS was pretty clear about what this thread is about — investigating and trying to understand the shadow people phenomenon. How did this thread turn into a bible thumping marathon?

Jesus has nothing to do with understanding shadow people. 9 freaking pages and at least 6 are full of Jesus jargon.

It’s also annoying all the people that have never had an experience, refuting all others that have. You know what this makes you? Inexperienced and arrogant— nothing less. Why even participate in the thread if you have absolutely nothing to contribute???

I was quite surprised by Deathslayer's response last night. This is not how a Christian acts.

And, an informed Christian would never state that there are ghosts, that Jesus doesn't have the abiliity to remove entities. ALL entities are evil and demonic, they are just taking different forms.

And so based on the fact that the OP proclaimed himself to be a Christian it naturally leads to a topic involving Jesus, and the fact that Jesus can and does remove entities.

The OP is delving into new age practices re: salt, sage, etc when fighting these things. And the advice to move out of your home is ridiculous. We take back places in the name of Jesus of which have been taken over by evil, including shadow people.

We also have dominion over animals and nature. Why in the world would we use the innocent life of a hamster to test until death the presence of a shadow person

There is everything wrong with the OP's goal in this thread I'm afraid. And I come against it in the name of Jesus.

With all due respect, the OP has been pretty clear in this thread that shadow people are demonic.
I'm no paranormal investigator, but I do have direct experience in this area--certainly not something I chose.
They aren't anything you want to hang around so you can observe and take notes. From a practical standpoint, the biggest part of understanding the phenomenon is understanding how to make them go away. That means understanding and engaging in spiritual warfare. Hence, the responses about Jesus are perfectly relevant to this discussion.

I think it's beautiful, amazing and I am so very loved to be a part of such might and grace.

Again please give your self credit and don't rely on God. There is zero proof of God existing and even more proof God doesn't exist. 3rd world countries where innocent people with no ill intentions suffer. If God existed he would not let anyone suffer but yet, here we are.

This is a very difficult concept for many? That comes off as very condescending and belittling. What makes you think you are smarter than the next? I hope you understand what you just said makes you sound very arrogant like you know more than others. I'm sure your make believe God would not appreciate that. It's not a difficult concept. i was resting watching tv, out of the corner of my eye i saw 'something' moving around and i have found if you look at these things straight on they vanish.

I wasn't going to respond to this but I will now as it's bugging the crap out of me.

YES 'shadow people' exist.

And they will lead you to death, and madness, not necessarily in that order.

My husband shot himself in the head due to the influences of the 'Whistling' shadow-man (which 4 other people besides myself saw on more than one occasion).

This 'Shadow People' shat is NOTHING to encourage, or seek out. What the hell. Smarten up.

If you even suspect your home (wherever) is inhibited by a 'shadow' - you best be talking to Jesus.

Believe whatever you will? Jesus is the only one to rid your life of the 'shadows' - in more ways than one.

im not sure about Jesus being able to help you with these things but i know when i took that picture my life was in all sorts of chaos and during that time i had alot of friends die so i feel like death was surroundings me.


thankfully i got my life together and the awful people banished


during that time i feel like no matter where i was they followed me and feed off my misery and sadness, it wasn't until i got myself back together and actually said out loud one night "i demand that you leave me and my house" and even used the word God but i think God is just what we call whatever the power that runs the universe.

i have been left alone for the most part.

i have seen alot of strange things in my time but these creatures are, to me, the physical embodiment of sadness and fear.

I was thinking about starting a new thread on the history and cultural make up of the Shadow People and what I've learned over the decades, but given the responses in this thread I'm going turn back away from doing so. So instead I'm going to leave this thread with a picture that I received while conducting an investigation (this photo has been posted on ATS before in the thread I linked to in the first post I made in this thread)




I wish people would stop looking at the whole Shadow People phenomena as some kind of spooky religious based thing, and instead tried to evaluate these event from an anthropological angle instead.
