MEXICO CITY - At least 17 suspected cartel gunmen and four police were killed during shootouts over the weekend in a Mexican town near the U.S. border, days after U.S. President Donald Trump raised bilateral tensions by saying he would designate the gangs as terrorists.
Maybe if it was a gun free zone.

Maybe if America didn’t supply 70% of the guns in Mexico.
Big difference is they will then be in Texas. I know where I'm putting my money on that bet.

First thing the cartels will do is strike america and say if you
label us terrorists we will become terrorists. Border cities like
El Paso and Brownsville be on high alert immediately. The
casinos in El Paso are but a dash from the border. Not good
at all.

Only 2 out of the top 10 guns in Mexico are from the US... Go figure. The Colt 45 and Bushmaster.
Research shows that a majority of guns in Mexico can be traced to the U.S. A report from the U.S Government Accountability Office showed that 70 percent of guns seized in Mexico by Mexican authorities and submitted for tracing have a U.S. origin. This percentage remains consistent, said Bradley Engelbert, a spokesperson for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. And the Trump administration has recently taken steps to ease rules on gun exports, which enables manufacturers to sell guns in Mexico and Central America countries.
A report from the Center of American Progress found that the United States was the primary source of weapons used in crime in Mexico and Canada. Other countries in Central America can also trace a large proportion of guns seized in crimes to the United States. For example, the report found that from 2014 to 2016, 49 percent of crime guns seized in El Salvador were originally purchased in the U.S. In Honduras, 45 percent of guns recovered in crime scenes were traced to the United States as well.

But they’re not terrorists. They’re criminals. They have neither political nor religious motives. They’re no more terrorists than Al Capone or Whitey Bulger. They just want to make money in a less than respectable fashion.

They are extremist groups that break the law in about every way possible. When they go into a town and kill the Mayor, what do you call that? Sure seems like terrorism though not attached to a religious ideal.

When the police are too afraid to go after them and they out gun them. Sounds like terrorism to me.
