Attorney General William Barr said he initially had his own suspicions about financier Jeffrey Epstein’s death while behind bars at one of the most secure jails in America but came to conclude that his suicide was the result of “a perfect storm of screw-ups.”

In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said his concerns were prompted by the numerous irregularities at the Manhattan jail where Epstein was being held. But he said after the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general continued to investigate, he realized there were a “series” of mistakes made that gave Epstein the chance to take his own life.

Yorgen Fenech named as owner of gaming company involved in ‘criminal network’

Yorgen Fenech, owner of 17 Black, has been accused of being a part of a ‘large criminal network’ involving the Swedish igaming industry and Malta.

These companies were accused of violating the law and making transfers of money to and from Norwegian banks, something that is now illegal. Despite this fact, they were still granted the right to operate in Sweden.

One of the companies named as one that is operating illegally in Norway is L&L Europe Ltd, co-owned by Yorgen Fenech. Dagens Nyheter (DN) reported the findings, noting that Fenech had links to a corruption racket in Malta linked to several politicians.

The Norwegian authorities had decided to stop a number of bank transactions to companies that act as payment intermediaries for online casinos. In 2017, they stopped payments in excess of €51 million. DN also showed that a number of these companies are structured in such a way as to hide the real owners.

Fenech was found to be the owner of Dubai-based company 17 Black, set up to pay kickbacks to the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Keith Schembri and Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi, according to leaked emails.

In an interview last week with the independent outlet Narativ, Ben-Menashe, who himself was involved in Iran-Contra arms deals, told his interviewer Zev Shalev that he had been introduced to Jeffrey Epstein by Robert Maxwell in the mid-1980s while Maxwell’s and Ben-Menashe’s involvement with Iran-Contra was ongoing. Ben-Menashe did not specify the year he met Epstein.

Sooooo .... no consequences except for some low level schlubs, no investigation despite evidence it was a murder, no nothing.

And the upcoming IG report is looking to be a whitewash too - one low level fall guy who "falsified" reports but everyone else didn't know anything about it.

Skipping ahead to say thank you I saw on CTH this am that WaPo identified him as Kevin Clinesmith and he's no longer at FBI.

Washington Post said it's a lawyer that works UNDER Peter Strzok. Then they erased that statement a few hours later, last night.

President Trump said the Whistleblower will be the first witness in the Senate trial. (Sounds like he's looking forward to it.)

Also, Pelosi is toying with the idea of NOT sending any House approved impeachment articles over to the Senate. Trump will run for re-election as an impeached President. Dems will have something to run on for Nov 2020.
