I have a 2 part challenge for our resident Democrats and Anti Trumpers.

#1 Pick a Presidential candidate [ or a combination ] and tell me why you support them. What plan/policy/ideas do they have that will improve the lives of the average American. How will they be a benefit to this country as far as taxes, jobs, healthcare, trade, etc, are concerned. Tell me why I should vote for that person.

# 2 here's the hard part...... Do it without mentioning Trump.
Let your candidate stand on their own merit.

I expect this to be impossible for some. If you can't do it without bringing up Trump and your argument basically boils down to Orange Man Bad, maybe you should take another look at your choice......and a long look in the mirror.

So...come on...here's your chance...convince me.

"Presidential candidate"

.....besides, I'm stuck in Illinois for the next couple of years. That's like putting lipstick on a pig. Since Pritzker got in, state taxes, gas tax and license and registration fees have doubled.

As I can't vote in your elections and don't know many of your politicians I'll have to go a bit left field and say I'd like to see Tom Hanks run for POTUS , he isn't "one of them" and seems like a decent chap with a good head on his shoulders.

You currently have a TV star as President so why not take the next step and go for a movie star.

It seems you decided to weigh in on a thread, while completely ignoring the premise, and question, thereby totally summing up a liberal mentality.

Kudos for confirming OPs thoughts.

Shouldn't we (as voters) be concerned about policies and plans instead of superficial nonsense like they appear pleasant?

Might as well vote for someone because they have "nice boobs".

I don't think your perception of Trump as a TV star is accurate. He was a public figure, efficient builder, business man, and CEO of his "empire" decades before his reality TV days.

I don't think that's what his supporters saw in him.

As far as Tom Hanks? He is a well liked guy, and great actor. Why would he want the headache?

But if those Democratic candidates are such a better choice, you should be able to tell me why, shouldn't you ?

That you can't or won't speaks volumes.

Wow. If you truly believed in a candidate, why wouldn't you promote them given the chance?

More of a movie actor than a movie star I think.

I just had a check and it seems Johnson / Hanks are the Dream Ticket for 2020.

Here's their announcement video.

Prepare to be great again , who'd argue The Rock !

You think a property developer can have policy ideas and a vision for your future but an accomplished actor can't ?

It's very possible that he could, but unless he has expoused his views, with the intent on implementation, upon his election, why would he be considered at all?

Isn't that kind of like picking a name out of a hat, so to speak?

We've heard policies from Trump, that's why he was elected.

That's what we need to focus on.

Policies.
