If you're the individual they've punched intentionally, then it's not disciplining, it's self defense. 14 isn't a little kid, that's a post pubescent young adult.

That this even made the news is equally hilarious, seems like the only reason it made a story is because the guy was wearing a Trump mask.
You would be on the 101 non emergency police line all day if it was in my town, and yep, most folk would laugh at the bloke here for crying to the cops.

This thread has made all my friends laugh, female and male, must be a cultural difference...crying to cops over a punch which caused no injuries...cops here wouldn't even investigate it lmao 😂

If that was the headline then ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of those screeching that this is acceptable behaviour would be calling for jail time for the boy.

Is it because they’re sexist? Is it because Orange Man Bad? Is it an iq thing?

Should this man have pushed the girl? Punched her? Done nothing at all because it’s ok for a 14 year old to physically assault grown adults?

What about if the 14 year old burns your house down because of Orange Man Bad? Is it ok to call the police then?

Is there a cut-off point or is all 14 year old crime openly acceptable?

I wasn’t there, I probably wouldn’t have called the police but I don’t know what I would do myself. She is just a little girl so it would be hard to use self-defense against her.

Not saying there shouldn't be consequences, the girl clearly needs her parents to steer her in the right direction.

Depends on the girl and what she was doing really.

I sure as hell ain't letting anyone smack me in the face for no reason.

If my daughter thought she could act like that, I'd smack her arse and ground her.
She understands though, how, where and when to use violence.

And it's not against random strangers who aren't a threat or haven't done anything to deserve it.

And I've been rather lucky in life by looking like the sort of person most people don't want to start on, even though I'm a lovely, soft hearted bloke.

Honestly though, someone tries that on me and they'll get it back, regardless of who their daddy is.

It's about respect. I've known stone cold killers in my time and most of them wouldn't dream of just smacking a stranger like this, they sure wouldn't take it either. They have more respect for themselves and other people.

I would be pissed off no doubt, and I can say how I'd react in all honesty, I can however state with certainly I would not use violence as way to teach her not be violent.

I would just call the cops and tell them, to arrest her for assault.

Simple and proper.

But calling the police to teach her the consequences of violence: absolutely not an option.
