I think BlackRose is right. If you want more info on dragons on a different plane sign up with the msn group Otherkin. Find some of the draconic otherkin and you can ask them some questions.

I believe dragons did and still do live we've never seen one but that doesn't mean anything. Nothing so mystical could just die off!

there probibly alive somewhere, dragons were thought to be able to morph into human form as well as shift dimensions, flying from one realm to the next at will.

I find it hard to believe in dragons in the sense of magical beasts that are intelligent and all the other things of legend. Although i do believe that it's imposible to have so many legends around the world without some truth, I'm more inclined to believe that dragons are/were either some surviving dinosaur or relative of the dinos, or that they are a species of reptile similar to monitor lizards, only much larger. I fail to believe that they are as long lived as told, but would propose something more like a couple of hundred years, as for intelligence. I would speculate on somewhere a little higher than elephant/whale/dolphin, which i could suggest for reasons of no physical evidence towards their existence. If a creature as large and powerful as this did exist then it would most likely only have it's corpse found either in cavern homes or in sediment at the bottom of oceans, as i cannot see such things having any predators. Also basic ecology shows that an enviroment can only support a certain amount of large predators, which would mean such creatures would be very slow to reproduce or would have a very high mortality rate. So with such a low population, the chances of disovery are once again reduced.

I believe that dragons existed once, but died off, or were purposely removed to live elsewhere.

I agree with feygan. I think they are just form of flying dinosaurs. If it is true that Dragons existed in the dark ages and the Midevil times, I think it's because some survived the mass extinction and had problems surviving with the few dragons remaining. They could have possibly died out around that time period. I believe dragons existed, but not the mythical creatures in fantasy stories.

It is my opinion that dragons are nothing more than a myth. However lets suppose that in a freak occurrence someone from medieval times did witness a flying reptile. It was most likely a fairly small winged dinosaur. I believe that if someone did witness this that it most likely was blown out of proportion to the giant fire breathing beasts of legend. It most likely stated as a result of either one man lying or a freak occurrence that was spun out of proportion.

The main problem i have with the fantasy version of dragons (as much as i'd like to believe it) Is that then where do you stop? does that then mean we have all the other creatures of fantasy? (ie.Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, faries etc) Before we knew It we'd be looking in a tolkein book for thoeries of evolution? Now as much as I'd prefer the world to be like that, It unfortunatly Isn't.

So you are willing to disbelieve the possibility of a species having existed just because you don't know if other species existed as well.
If scientists took that approach we would still be in the technological stage that we were in in the Dark Ages.

I'm not outright disbelieving in all these species mentioned, but the simple fact is. There isn't enough room on this planet for all these differents things.

I don't think you understand what I mean.
Just because one species exists or existed does not mean that they all exist or existed.

Very true, but i fail to see how a creature such as the mythical fantasy version of the dragon could have either have or still does exist. Mainly as if one creature can posses such abilities (Great intelligence, magical spells, immortality, and firey breath etc) Then evolution dictates that other species would have developed at least one or more of these traits, which is where my argument of all the other things such as elves, faries etc somes in. Such a mass os these beings, even if they lived before the time of the dinosaurs would still have left an imcredible mark on the land. It's not that I dont want to believe in such things, personally I'd love the world to be full of all these things, but from what we know both archeologiclly and biologically they don't.

My theory on dragons are that they did live but not in this dimmension. I think that our universe is actually a multiverse and in one of the universes dragons are the domminant species on Earth. I think that the reason the dragons were sighted in earlier times was that for some reason the divider (aka: veil) between the universes was weak. The reason why we don't see them today is because the veil has grown stronger.
I can understand if you think that this theory is insane but if you believe in multiple universes it is perfectly possible.

Possible yes, totally. I'm mearly stating that I find it impossible that the mythical dragons of legend ever existed on this planet as a natural species. If they do/have existed here then they must have been foreign, as such a creature would have upset the ecological balance of this planet too much. However as a gigantic flying reptile? Well just maybe at one time.

Show me some physical proof, or an eyewhitness (not a remote viewer... I personally think some of them are a bit wacked out (not all, but some.))of a dragon. Ancient manuscripts don't count here.

There are two main schools of thought on dragons. (2 main types as far as I know).

1. Chineese/Eastern Dragons.
These are believed to be more of spiritual beings as far as I can remember, not necessarily existing in the physical world, but were thouhgt of sort of like angels (to be vague). From what I can recall, they were thought to be both good and evil (different ones).

2. European/Western Dragons.
Fire-breathing-winged-beasts with superior inteligence... but on the whole... they're thought of as evil.

I understand that there are other civilizations that describe creatures like dragons... but as for these two... their usual physical depictions (as well as the descriptions of their characteristics and 'personalities') are about as far apart as a snake is from a turtle (only real similarity is that they both supposedly look reptilian). So I would hardly even say that they're even the same kind of creature. The word 'dragon' is used to describe both of them... but they're very differnt cryptozoological creatures/beings.

Personally I think that the Luck Dragon from The Never Ending Story is the coolest dragon of all time. He'd kick Barney's butt (yes, Barney is a dragon).
