n a legal settlement that still awaits a federal judge's approval, the IRS "expresses its sincere apology" for mistreating a conservative organization called Linchpins of Liberty — along with 40 other conservative groups — in their applications for tax-exempt status.
And in a second case, NorCal Tea Party Patriots and 427 other groups suing the IRS also reached a "substantial financial settlement" with the government.

Had a quick look around and couldn't see this posted.
Everyone knows Trump is resisting releasing his tax returns and Deutsche Bank have recently revealed that they are in possession of said tax returns in recent court filings. We also know that Deutsche Bank were the only bank that would loan Trump money due to his history of bankruptcy. Now sources close to Deutsche Bank have, if reports are to be believed, revealed that there are Russians who co-signed on those loans.
source close to Deutsche Bank says Trump’s tax returns show he pays very little income tax and, more importantly, that his loans have Russian co-signers. If true, that explains every kind word Trump has ever said about Russia and Putin.
Lawrence O'Donnell
If true, I guess this would go a long way towards explaining Trumps reluctance to reveal any details on his finances. Given Juniors past admission that the Trump Organisation has all the financing it needs out of Russia this new disclosure does have some grounding in the truth.

O’Donnell has already walked it back himself though he won’t admit it was bs opinion but he did say that the story “wasn’t ready to report”.... hahaha even his apology was squirrelly but he had to do it.

NEW YORK —
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Wednesday retracted his story about supposed Russian ties to President Trump’s finances and apologized for reporting it — just as Trump’s lawyer had demanded.
O’Donnell said, however, he still doesn’t know whether or not the story is true.

They weren't maliciously targeted. Again, playing victim becuae of their choice in words to use for their group.
Perhaps the IRS have had issues in the past with these sort of groups.

It also says liberal groups fell into the obvious automated sorting system they put in place.
