Is this some sense of misguided gloating and cheap political points? If so, it's a big fail -- OBVIOUSLY -- as the El Paso shooter was of the opposite persuasion. No political party/ideology has a monopoly on crazies.

Couple things.

One: this certainly does show how nuts people are who believe politics can save the world and believe the words politicians say are real...
We don't live in an ism we live in a changing world that requires adaption like everything else that lives.


Two. Criminal justice looks at motive. This person most likely killed mostly liberals. The names listed were also supportive of democrats..so was his motive to scare democrats?

He went to the local bar and shot his own sister first.

The el Paso kid drive 600 miles to terrorize latino's, their friends, mixed race people and all the other vile things he wrote.

While they end up terrorizing society in general the motive and intent is quite different. The alleged radical liberal was putting guns to his friends head and was a known nut case irregardless of his political views. He did not target conservatives, police, ice, or anything that would be considered political terrorism.

If anything is to draw of these two incidents imo it's that division is actually destroying the country. Pointing out how bad the other tribe is and not working on the weeds in your own tribe is the most energy the public can provide to division.

The problem here is complex but also simple. Humans culture has advanced far faster than biological evolution that created our system of passing on genes. Our fears and irrational nature had a purpose in procreation before civilization, and civilization was generally modelled from these responses to nature for survival of the human race.

For the first time in known history we live primarily outside of nature. Outside of the entire way we evolved particularly hormone responses etc. Many younger people have spent more time on screens than in nature.

The United states work life balance does not allow enough down time to handle the rapid change and we are loosing touch with our kids and our ability to parent.

A mass shooting was just stopped by a grandparent who knew something was off. How many shootings would be stopped if people knew their neighbors and kids better? How many would never feel isolated and need for a political tribe to begin with?

The it's not us its them needs to stop. Its US.

The other level of difference with the US is the use of demagoguery and sensationalism in all levels of politics. Solutions are hardly ever incentives and almost always punishments.

Like Kamala harris bragging about getting attendance up in schools by putting parents in jail if their kid is absent or tardy. Rather than some sort of incentive to be a good parent we punish. Child support is a great example. If you don't pay the Gestapo comes around and locks you up.
