Why would they give anyone else except Bond the codename 007? They should have just stopped the codename after Sean Connery if they wanna make a world where James Bond actually retires.

Because it's a codename. There have been many other 00's in the novels who used someone else's codename. He's still James Bond and he's still being played by Daniel Craig.

Captain Marvel was a great movie. For example.

You think Cap Marvel was a great movie? Seriously? It was mediocre at best. Boring, formulaic and very poorly written.

I can understand someone liking the movie as I myself enjoyed it. But to call it great? Yeesh. You dont even read the most strident defenders of the movie claiming it was in and of itself a "great" movie. Easily in the bottom 3rd of the MCU with the likes of Dark World, Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk.

In top of that Cap Marvel is a crap character. Pretty much Superman but doesnt even have a weakness like Supes does. Overpowered, pointless, no character arc and utterly boring.

You're absolutely right, the talking heads on TV told you so.

Being old, I actually read a few of Ian Flemming's books before seeing any of the movies.

Bond will always be a hard-drinking, womanizing, sexist bastard that kills bad guys in the best ways possible.
