Guess we'll find out when the IG investigation is over.

The ig will not make any comment on if the Steele dossier was accurate

Mueller already did that, he said there was no proof of any of its claims of crimes

The ig will comment in if investigators improperly used the Steele dossier to spy on people connected to trump

It was Washington DC late at night in not the best neighborhood.
What more explanation do you need? And robbery attempts get interrupted and fouled up by outsiders all the time so don't ask me why they didn't take his wallet. He fights back they decide he's too much boom your dead someone else yells and the attempted robber now murderer run away without getting anything. That is not out of the realm of possibility and is much more likely than a Hillary Clinton hit squad.

Then certainly the Steele Dossier, which this guy who writhe the story in the op helped promote, has been proven wrong

The fact that as you say it lead to an investigation proves it was a far more harmful conspiracy theory than the Seth rich story

The Mueller investigation produced actual results because the basis for the investigation proved largely true.

The Seth Rich conspiracy produced nothing because it was a baseless shame seeded by Russian Intel to distract.

Big difference, and that's the point.

Conflating the two is disingenuous.

not if someone was yelling out their window or a car came by or people were on the street.
But I get it, you dont want to think the Russians duped you so you're going to defend this dumb story anyway.

There is no real evidence anywhere because this was a made up conspiracy theory to throw shade on Hillary. Just one of the many ways russia worked to get trump elected.

Not to worry the ones capable of logic figured this out a long time ago. The rest, well that's just banging your head against a wall and there's never a good reason to do that.

The basis for the mueller report was that people I. Trump campaign worked illegally with Russians in the 2016 election

Show me where that was proven largely true

While this thread is not about Trump/Russian or what was found during the investigation or why, but about Seth Rich, in order to not derail the thread (as many are attempting to do), there is plenty of evidence of contact between individuals in the Trump Campaign and Russia. Google it.

Once again, it produced results.

The Seth Rich conspiracy was just that—a conspiracy—with no factual basis, seeded by Russian Intel. That is one reason after Fox etc ran with it after picking it up from right-wing blogs, etc where it was seeded, it had to reluctantly retract—because there was no factual basis or foundation for it.

Yep.

As the OP said, I don't expect to convince anyone, even if it hit them in the head.

But this is for the record.

It’s amazing to me how someone could read the mueller report which said plainly no one in trumps team broke the law by conspiring with Russians, and still claim that somehow that’s not the case

The Steele Dossier was just that, a conspiracy seeded by Russian intel. Except unlike the Seth rich conspiracy, it was used by Obama’s admin to spy on trump connected people and have a two year long investigation

The Steele dossier was so effective in spreading a conspiracy that people like you and many others still believe it after your man mueller investigated it for two years and wasn’t able to show one person illegally conspired with russia

I'm sure this will convince few of you already so steeped in the belief that Hillary is still behind it, but that's the whole point in propaganda. And I expect the usual trolls to swarm in trying to discredit the article and the information.

Nice pre-emptive strike there. "If anyone disagrees with me or presents contrary evidence, they are a troll."

No, I just know how this site works and the MO of many of the active users:

It's affirmation of existing belief, which is why the OP will do little to cause some to consider differently their own reality and why I expect the usual attacks.

That it has been found that the Rich conspiracy was a deliberate seed by Russian intel, I expect the usual deflection.

Someone should explain how it was that Wikileaks got the DNC files... two days after Rich was murdered.
Did his ghost download the files or was it more like Guccifer 2?

Exclusive: The true origins of the Seth Rich conspiracy theory. A Yahoo News investigation.

WASHINGTON — In the summer of 2016, Russian intelligence agents secretly planted a fake report claiming that Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was gunned down by a squad of assassins working for Hillary Clinton, giving rise to a notorious conspiracy theory that captivated conservative activists and was later promoted from inside President Trump’s White House, a Yahoo News investigation has found.

Russia’s foreign intelligence service, known as the SVR, first circulated a phony “bulletin” — disguised to read as a real intelligence report —about the alleged murder of the former DNC staffer on July 13, 2016, according to the U.S. federal prosecutor who was in charge of the Rich case.

This is a very interesting article for several reasons. I know there are many people on this site who are/were convinced that Seth was murdered as part of some deep state plot masterminded by Hillary after he supposedly uncovered tons of dirt and transferred it to certain outlets supposedly "proving" this that or the other.

And I am not surprised so many were duped.

But as the article shows, it's a complete fabrication by Russian intelligence that was seeded on the internet, picked up by right wing blogs, Alex Jones, and then made its way into right wing prime time—Fox, Hannity, etc, smearing a murdered staffer for ratings, to blame Hillary, and to detract from the investigations.

The Russian effort to exploit Rich’s tragic death didn’t stop with the fake SVR bulletin. Over the course of the next two and a half years, the Russian government-owned media organizations RT and Sputnik repeatedly played up stories that baselessly alleged that Rich, a relatively junior-level staffer, was the source of Democratic Party emails that had been leaked to WikiLeaks.

IRA-created fake accounts, masquerading as those of American citizens or political groups, tweeted and retweeted more than 2,000 times about Rich, helping to keep the bogus claims about his death in the social media bloodstream, according to an analysis of a database of Russia troll accounts by Yahoo News.

Sines, the former prosecutor, said that the Russian conspiracy-mongering vastly complicated her efforts to solve the murder by forcing her and the Washington, D.C., police department to investigate a blizzard of false allegations in order to make sure there was nothing to any of them. “To waste your time investigating BS is just horrible,” said Sines.

“It appeared to me that it was a very clear campaign to deflect an ongoing federal criminal investigation,” Sines said. “So then you have to look at why is Russia doing this? … It’s not rocket science before you add it up and you go, ‘Oh, if Seth is the leaker to WikiLeaks — it doesn’t have anything to do with the Russians.

Bingo.

And here we have Fox and Hannity, aiding and abetting the fabrication to millions of viewers, viewers who took it hook, line, and sinker, believing it.

The conspiracy claims reached their zenith in May 2017 — the same week as Mueller’s appointment as special counsel in the Russia probe — when Fox News’ website posted a sensational story claiming that an FBI forensic report had discovered evidence on Rich’s laptop that he had been in communication with WikiLeaks prior to his death. Sean Hannity, the network’s primetime star, treated the account as major news on his nightly broadcast, calling it “explosive” and proclaiming it “might expose the single biggest fraud, lies, perpetrated on the American people by the media and the Democrats in our history.”

In fact, the Fox story was a “complete fabrication,” said Sines, who consulted with the FBI about the Fox News claims. There was “no connection between Seth and WikiLeaks. And there was no evidence on his work computer of him downloading and disseminating things from the DNC.”

I'm sure this will convince few of you already so steeped in the belief that Hillary is still behind it, but that's the whole point in propaganda. And I expect the usual trolls to swarm in trying to discredit the article and the information.

What information?

There is no verifiable info in your whole, pointless diatribe.

Did you actually read the article, or even try to process it? Or did you simply deflect to my "diatribe?"

That's what I thought.

Never mind that up until then and not since then has Assange even hinted at a source for anything that Wikileaks publishes. But this he hints at to a Dutch reporter?
He was a russian tool in this instance. He picked up the story after it was released on some Russian website who faked a bulletin about a hit squad gathered by Hillary Clinton taking this guy out. He didn't even get the e mails until Rich had been dead for two days.
I guess you guys will just continue to deny this was a hoax and continue to believe the astounding story about a Clinton death squad no matter what because accepting any part of the Russia story invalidates everything you hold sacred.
Talk about denying ignorance.

I am not saying a believe the Seth rich conspiracy

But he could have handed the files off to Wikileaks or a third party well before the day he was killed

But since we are asking questions about common sense

Can you explain to me why the dnc would refuse the fbi request to look at their server if they truly were hacked by Russia?
