No not at all

I called trump out for that

That’s irrelevant to this uk official saying he thinks trump is bad for doing what he said he would do in his campaign and not going to war with iran

The fact is Trump broke his promise.

Did he not?

Did he? The Syria conflict was already ongoing as he assumed office. We were already involved. He was going to pull out, then the attack happened, necessitating a response of some kind. 59 cruise missiles, vs more personnel and equipment to supplement what was already in the area.

Does it count as a new conflict?

but you'd rather fork over billions to guys in the coal and oil industry.

Why do tree-huggers always have this mental image of 6 fat rich guys sitting on an oil well as being "the coal and oil industry"?

The oil industry alone provides hundreds of thousand of well-paying jobs... not including support services and money into state, local and business people's pockets.

Cheap and reliable energy? Nah... you would rather have 6$ a gallon gas and a $500 a month electric bill?

The oil industry is 9% of America's GDP.

Without it the economy collaspes.

So yea, let's get rid of it!!!

/facepalm

American involvement in Syria was against ISIS. The Cruise Missile attack in April 2017 was directed against the Assad regime.

There is a difference.

I'm just trying to figure out how the Trump administration is inept , insecure and incompetent.

Personally I'm a fence sitter with Trump.

But his thread isn't about my thoughts on the man, its about this Ambassador's thoughts and assessment.
And what I'm saying is that its part of his job to come up with these things just as it will be his counterparts duty here in the UK to do the same about the UK government.

I don't understand why the big hoo-ha.

Inept, insecure, incompetent?

Tell that to the millions of Americans thriving under his administration...

You all are a freaking joke.
Sorry our prosperity pisses you off so much. But you still got 5 years of it to contend with.

So many interesting points to discuss.
WW2
Hitler was counting on GB to side with him after a little punishment because the British Monarchy had German roots. Battenberg = Mount Batten [a clumsy name change during WW1] There is some question as to Brit royalty conspiring but that is lost in the fog of war. Will the UK citizens keep their Monarchy? It is a tourist draw and provides fodder for tabloids so they might think it is worth the aggravation and expense.
GB made great technical advances [Radar, Bletchley/Turing] and also adapted to lack of resources by having dispersed cabinet shops produce wooden parts for the best Brit aircraft of WW2 - the DeHavilland Mosquito [not the Spit. Sorry fanbois].
GB would have starved [Hitler's plan] had not the US built ships faster than they could be sunk by the wolf packs and convoyed supplies to GB. The Soviets took the brunt of the war in Europe and drew off Nazi forces, without which the landings would have never been successful. WW2 was what we call a group effort. All parties were necessary for victory.
The US was the main player in the Pacific, of course.
ETA: Montgomery was a complete twit and got many troops killed though incompetence. MacArthur was too, although he was a better General than Monty.
Climate Change is the latest version of global warming. What fraction is assigned to natural cycles and what fraction is determined to be anthropogenic is not settled at all. Anyone that claims the "science is settled" has no idea of what science is. Carbon tax is the leveling of the world's economies by transfer of wealth. It will do nothing for climate change.
CO2 below 180ppm will starve plants. CO2 has been as high as 1500ppm in the distant past. A study of NASA satellite data shows a "greening" of the Earth since 1950. What is a good level of CO2? No one knows. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor. Clouds are complex in their effects and predictive models haven't predicted well, so far.
Ocean levels are also more complicated than most think. The oceans are not a bathtub. Water levels will rise in some places but drop significantly in other places should glaciers melt.
Trump is keeping his promises and not following the globalist/socialist path that is bringing troubles to Europe. Knife boxes and no-go neighborhoods are now accepted as normal. No wonder Brexit is important to the masses. Obama was a disaster as a President and couldn't even get Obamacare [Romneycare] right when he had both houses of Congress. He was duplicitous and, if he didn't have a teleprompter, was a poor speaker. FISA and Uranium One may yet out him as the corrupt Chicago politician that he was. He did win the Nobel Prize for something or other; no one is quite sure if it was worthy of such and the Nobel Committee questioned themselves, years later.
Trump is trying to bring order to the government. Many people think that what he says is more important than what he does. The Brit ambassador is reading his script in the movie. We have to wait for the climax and afterword to determine why he wrote what he did and of it was really what he thought.

Never forget, US saved y'alls arses in WW2

I was waiting for that.

You never fail to disappoint.

Just remind me what year The Battle Of Britain took place? And what year did The US join in the party?

Does it matter if the end result was your countries complete extermination? But remind us how that didn't happen? I'll wait.

Triggered as well as having selective memory... Or a complete lack of knowledge regarding history.

Are all Trumpets delusional?

Neither do I.

It was why I asked for examples.

All anyone could come up with is Paris Accords and Iran.

*shrugs*

And irony of ironies, those are two reasons why he was elected.

President Trump may well be "Absolutely Charming" but that doesn't mean his administration is any less Inept , Insecure or Incompetent.

And Donald Trump may very well go down as the very best US President of all times. If I remember correctly Abraham Lincoln was a pretty controversial as well before the progressives shot him.

A great President doesnt come from being like Jimmy Carter with his lifetime of failures, or Billy Clinton with his cigar theatrics in the Oval office, or Bills wife belonging to a witches coven, or any other nudenic progressive behavior.
It comes from making hard choices that are sometimes unpopular, but good for the nation in the long run. A good President isn't permissive, like a failed parent. A good President stands tall in the face of adversity, and criticism, just like Donald is currently achieving.
Have a nice day

Either he has a personality disorder, or one of the articles is lying.

I’m not in favor of handing money to any industry. But if your only rebuttal is to put words in my mouth, then I won this debate. Better luck next time I guess and glad I could educate you.

Oh? Targeting me specifically I see? I'm flattered.

Anyone who goes out there way, not once, but twice, to come at me is obviously triggered by something I said.

But if this post about me is indicative of anything, it's to show your complete lack of input with regards to the thread and its context.

You made mention of neither.

I believe your post to be the absolute zenith of your capabalities and fell with a resounding "thud".

Nice try, but you're too easy. If you don't have anything to bring to the table, you're dismissed.

It's possible , if his plans play out the way he wants perhaps he would be vindicated but for that he will have to secure his second term first , I used to think he was a certainty but I'm not so sure these days , time will tell.

He should still sack Bolton though.

Oh I'm triggered... Into a fit of laughter, so thanks for that this Sunday was getting pretty boring.

Anything I could bring to the table was already mentioned by other members. Like Freeborn mentioning what an ambassador actually does and he's right, they're not politicians. Reports like this are his job, the leak sucks but it is what it is.

The rest of the thread was Trump followers getting all triggered because "bad words" and a totally inaccurate assessment of history by Americans. But then some things never change.

Nice try, but you're too easy. If you don't have anything to bring to the table, you're dismissed.

So damaging
I guess I'll take my leave since a Trump supporter has told me to leave. Admittedly done in a friendly way... How's that passive aggressive demeanor holding up for you?

And I'm the predictable one...

And why do idiots who have no idea call people tree-huggers, I've never hugged a tree in my life. I simply showed a fact where Trump was wrong, I picked energy as this was Trump using the biggest "fake" news articles out there to try and prove his point.

The renewable energy companys provide hundreds of thousand of well-paying jobs... not including support services and money into state, local and business people's pockets too.

Something called evidence!
