It is part about a aircraft and more about someone getting rich making it. Looks like he gets another order. Better make it two units.

Okay...$223m then. (even more!)

Same question.

Silly me, forgetting that aggression is best rewarded with a chat and a cup of tea and cake. That will stop 'em for sure.
What will it take before we can fire back? a downed F18? maybe a carrier? sorry I'm forgetting myself again, obviously the correct response there would be some stern words and 5 course meal. Dear god.

Forgot about Iran Air 655? At least the drone didn't carry passengers.

So what does this mean? Iran is taking credit for shooting it down and saying they're prepared for war. Boy does this blow a gaping hole in some people's belief that the US is trying to start a war.

Iran, at the behest of Obama/Kerry wants a war. Not us.

The MQ-4C is a Global Hawk. They took the stock RQ-4 and revamped it with sea search sensors for the Navy.

Because it isn't designed to penetrate an opponents airspace, so it's not stealthy, and it doesn't have self protection. It's more or less an unmanned U-2, designed to fly slow and high, with a fairly large RCS. Anyone with a SAM system can shoot it down once it gets with in range.

The proper response to an airspace violation like this is to alert the operator and give them a short time frame to remove it. But you do you

They're still building them. They're not going to place another order for one or two aircraft, or even for multiple units based on one loss. They allow for attrition in the purchase.

Cheers, is it right that the Global Hawk is the family and the MQ-4C and BAMS-D, as in this case, are different versions?

Yes. The RQ-4 is the baseline version, there's the EQ-4, that carries the BACN interface, the MQ-4, which is for the Navy and optimized for wide area sea search, and the BAMS-D is the demonstrator for the MQ-4 before they built the prototypes.

The proper response is to make sure they don't violate airspace again.

You all think an American drone was just minding its own businesses and Iran shot it down because they like the heat of American war machines closing on them...

Americans will believe anything... All sides.

White House holding a 11am meeting on the downing. President Trump says Iran "Made a very big mistake". I don't think that was giving an excuse for Iran. We'll see what comes out of this meeting.

No, Iran believes there are plenty of apologists for them in America who will believe anything they say, so they could shoot down a drone that was in international airspace, say it crossed their border, and you will believe them.

Yep. That's the reason you let them remove it while making it abundantly clear that if they fail to do so in a timely fashion you will shoot it down.

But if you don't like the heat of American War machines closing in on you, you certainly don't shoot one down. Did you actually think this statement through?

Yes because flying spy drones around their territory and implementing economic sanctions is an act of peace and love.
If Iran flew drones near US coastlines they would have been nuked back to stone age.
But hey, Trumps son in law is a zionist so I guess this was in the cards. Yeah, and Hillary was the one who would start ww3?!

They could have had outside help.

Plenty of people out there who have capacity and the want to kick it off

Well if they think people are going to buy that Iran is just itching for a war, for whatever reason, this time things will be different. As we have no allies rallying with us and no one in the international circuit is buying this tripe.

This is just blatant lies and a disrespect to the constituents intelligence.

So Iran 2 weeks ago, bombed a ship, and inspectors deemed the attack too sophisticated to be Iran, then Iran mysteriously decide to attack 2 more ships a week after the inspection results to make it more Iranian-like in the attack, and an IMMEDIATE surveillance video comes out. I'm not sure how they knew to watch that one ship in that specific area randomly...

And now less than a week afterwards, Iran shoots an American drone just minding its own business not provoking anyone.

It's weird how only countries that can never match the US, i.e. always countries smaller and less advanced than the USA, are the ones whom can't seem to have problems with America. Weird how that works...

Trump should stop making a fool of himself on twitter and for once act like a statesman. He already suffered one blowback with NK, one would think he learned from his mistakes. He should at least stop posting crap on twitter
