If only you knew how shady the high end of the "book deal" world is.

You know how books are "Best Sellers" weeks before they are even released or just happen to be #1 the week they are released?
clearinghouses are a really interesting thing, and with the advent of electronic "books" they have even more ways to screw around with the numbers.

I will put this in perspective to make it clear. A group of people who run clearing houses buy a lot of books, and dump them in a warehouse, before they even hit the market. They buy them at a deep discount from a publisher for about the price to print them. This makes the number huge and makes a book a "Best Seller" according to other publications. Now you all of the sudden have a crappy book that is a best seller, and a but load of free advertisement.

Now, the publishers that put out these numbers have to get a cut right? Well they get their numbers for sales from the clearing houses, the clearing houses then sell their stock of the book at a higher margin due to this "demand" for a best seller, that somehow is printed with the words "Best Seller!" on it before a single consumer gets their hands on it. Ohh and the publications? how do they get their cut?!? well they also offer these Best Sellers for sale.

So now everyone is in on the racket, the publisher, the clearinghouse and the 'Best Seller List" publisher. All the while the money is passed around, and authors who never even wrote a single page are best selling authors. Now the fun part, if you have a big name pushing a book, a publisher will offer them money and even ghost write the book for them with a staff of ghost writers that just have to interview the "author" a couple times and do some basic research on the subject of the book.

It is a HUGE money machine, and adding in electronic copies of books means that there is no longer even a cost associated for the most part with clearing houses making it all the more profitable to buy digital copies for the royalty fee (if that) for a right to sell a digital copy.

So $65 million for a "writing fee" up front is really just a "give us the right to ghost write such and such in your name", while lining everyone's profits and nobody is the wiser.

Prime example is Bernie Sanders explaining how/why he owns 3 homes. “I wrote a best seller!” Imagine all those free loading Socialists going to purchase a book about the things they should be provided for free? LOL 😝 Same goes for the music industry and YouTube “views” and or Twitter followers etc.

This one has me scratching my head and wondering about its authenticity. What say you?

It is doubly suspect to me because I just got through reading a news article today put out by the WSJ (news unlocks map...right?), once again discussing 'deepfake' videos.
