The gold (or gold-like) covering of the dome may attenuate radar waves though.
As far as HAM radio goes, there would need to be an antenna, which could be as little as a wire stretched out somewhere, it could be barely noticeable.

Roughly Same area Robert Maxwell was found floating (between Azores and Canary Islands).

That airport in the Azores used to be used for refueling on long airline flights back in the day, but longer range aircraft that we have today don't need that any more.
One thing I see that the island is known for are its white sand beaches. Maybe it is just a spot that rich people use to chill on the beach, I don't know.
