Jussie Smollett’s Lawyer Warns Chicago Not To Sue ‘Empire’ Actor

Anybody honest and non ideological knows that such a person should be held to account for his fake hate crime. The problem is that I personally know a lot of people who simply can’t or won’t admit that some women, and some minorities do create false accusations for personal, professional, or political reasons. To admit this would undermine the “believe all poc and women and never question their lived experience” as well as show that there are problems in the identity politics and ‘social justice’ narrative. For many people this is their secular religion.

Sounds like a last ditch effort to worm his way out of more public attention and chances to incriminate himself/commit false swearing or perjury/etc

Chicago should arrest him on extortion charges. Take him down the same way that slime ball left wing hero Avenatti went down

This Jussie Smollett is a piece of human garbage. If this happened to the regular joe, they would be doomed, oh but not him, then they go and pull this?

One thing I've learned from this thread.

Uncle Jessie needs to grow the mullet back.

I'm surprised the general dumb public is letting the case be sealed.

They have 2 brothers who confessed the whole thing.

Then there are people using their positions of power to avoid justice.

Public should be alittle more demanding.

Riots over failed justice and pay for play would probably be the most legitimate riot in a long time.

Sure they can he did not go to trial and was not found innocent therefore double jeopardy does not apply.. They chose not to go to trial because he is a celebrity.

He can be tried. Double jeopardy applies to being convicted or acquitted. Jussie was neither.

This is a precedent setting case. And not a good precedent either but the fact remains, it is what it is. I wish some Illinois attorneys would weigh in here because I have never heard of anything like this and don't know the legal legitimacies of it.

It also seems the FBI is taking it's sweet time getting to a point of charge or no charge. Too long IMHO. They should have more than enough and all the evidence they'll be needing at this point.

Yeah except she never actually recused herself, she just lied to the public and continued working on the case behind the scenes.

I STILL can't figure out out he got to BE the mayor of Chicago in the first place. As a citizen of Illinois, I know what qualifications are needed to run for mayor in a city in Illinois. I ran for mayor once myself, so I'm quite familiar with the law. And Rahm Emanuel did not meet the residency requirements, ergo, he "broke" the law. You'll notice that laws which apply to politicians generally don't have a "penalty" phase here in Illinois. That's because the world has long known that Chicago politics have been corrupt for a long, long time and the politicians make sure the laws are written that way. Heck, a simple seatbelt fine is written, "by law," to be a minimum of $55, but breaking the law about being elected mayor has no fine whatsoever! Emanuel was "put" into office because somebody else who came out of the corrupt Chicago Machine told the judges to "make it work" and install him into office. And he was installed. And the person who engineered this debacle would namely be, of course, Barack Obama.

I tried to get this insane law enforced and have him penalized and removed from office, but my voice fell on deaf ears here in Illinois. Where's the justice? Where is the law?

I'm wondering if what I've said has anything to with the Smollett case in the background somewhere?

Chicago is a lesser version of a Mad Max Flick, and it's not going to get better, only worse.
