Really. So how come so many Americans believe the Earth is 6000 years old, that evolution isn't real, that the Earth is flat, that vaccines cause autism, etc, etc ? It's because really stupid, really powerful people are spreading lies and disinformation from a position of assumed authority.

Science doesn't tell you how to live your life or what to believe. It uses evidence and scientific methods to allow YOU to prove it to yourself. Or disprove, whichever.

If the pro-vaxx case was sound, there simply wouldn't be so many legitimate scientists and researchers arguing against it.

What isn't sound about it? What evidence is there that it actually causes autism?

The fact is, there are no, zero, nada, randomized double-blind placebo controlled studies proving the safety, let alone efficacy, of vaccines.

You mean apart from the near eradication of small pox, polio, etc..? Apart from that. yeh. none.

All you have is anecdotal evidence and statistical models based on historical data, and those can be shown to be flawed in most cases (ignoring inconvenient data that doesn't fit, etc).
