we haven't had capitalism since 1913 and if you really prefer the 1930's with FDR

we've had a progressive government since then so what you are really saying is progressive government works

do you guys even know what you're talking about?

Oh god, I hear you loud and clear on that one brother.

But if we don't change ourselves first and get rid of the central banks, the fed will be recreated under some other pretense/new name that would again serve the oligarchs.

Do you think it is time for a new system?

oh yeah, ditch the Fed and eliminate all government social and corporate welfare programs. back to real asset values including housing and BAM all a sudden people are getting real wages and the value of your dollar means something

Crony capitalism? What is that? Is it like when the socialists say that Mao's china and Stalin's Russia was not not real socialism, maybe even crony socialism? And that they didn't do it right?

May the one true capitalism come forth? This is going to be fun, we may even have battle of the one true socialism VS the one true capitalism.

Ah! But truly. Idealism, is and was, really the only "ism" that has been going on both then and now. And likely ever will exist, today or million years from now, nothing else can really exist. Truly idealism is a most sneaky thing, it has disguised itself as something it is not, in the minds of many, if not all people.

What the hell is progressive government? The two words barely go together, I am trying to picture it, but its like picturing ketchup and peanut butter going together.

Anyways, I am not going to read much into what you say. But you are correct, in your oh so, not so, snide comment, about knowing what I am talking about. Off course I know what I am talking about, that should be obvious.

And no, I am not even going to google what progressive government is, as that would be a waste of a few seconds. Good day sir.

I figured you had no idea, it's typical that Americans *believe* we are capitalist when we really aren't

It is the plight of every nation, peoples, and civilizations to believe that they are something that they are not.

It's true that you can learn alot on the Internet and follow courses and tutorials on youtube that are all free to follow.

I've learned a great deal about 3d applications and programs to make art from.

It's where your interest lays what you want to learn.

About the other stuff I don't know but what I know is that there's seems to be a big gap between rich and poor and it ain't going to be better that eventually will collapse sooner or later. .

It will collapse because of Liberals that protect Teachers Unions.

We should have changed the way we prepare our kids for the real world years ago.

We can start by making learning to write code a mandatory subject instead of things like Government, College Leadership, Humanitarian Leadership, Art or Music classes. I asked my Nephew about his School Work and half of it has nothing to do with the real world.

Learning how to code should start in the 5th or 6th grade. Then you have classes to learn how to build apps and video games. You can learn about deep learning algorithms and things like Investment Banking and Private Equity.

We can teach kids how to be Entrepreneurs, write a business plan and pitch their Startup idea to investors.

This will not happen because of the grip of the Teachers Unions over corrupt Democrat Politicians. We're more concerned about teaching kids to be Global Citizens and Social Engineering and they Graduate unprepared for the real world and they think people who have should be taxed to death to give them free stuff promised by corrupt Politicians.

Calm your old soggy tits down. This country was built to be and works best as balanced mix of socialism and capitalism.
Things have swung too far out of balance and it needs to be corrected. New socialist policies WILL be enacted. Then it will eventually go too far and we'll get more pro-capitalist polices in place. That's how it works in this country.
Capitalism without socialism is fascism. Socialism without capitalism is communism.

Some older people in society have always looked down on our youth and nothing has changed. I remember well back in the early 70's when my grandpa would complain about 'those damned hippies', and how they were going to be responsible for our planet to fail with their 'dope, love beads, long hair and 'boom boom' music.

I'm retired, not young at all; and I fully support a social democracy much like that enjoyed by Scandinavian countries. It is time that Americans stop championing crony capitalism that is enriching the upper class at the expense of the middle class and further pummeling of the lower class. I am not aware on any influential politician calling for a socialist state, which is reframed by mainstream media to be more akin to communism. We have many socialist programs in America which benefit all people rather than the few. And that's the point. America really needs for people to start engaging their mind rather than spewing back what they are fed. If everyone would do this, step back and reflect on issues, they would soon realize that progressives support what most people want. Who in their right mind would not want affordable healthcare, better education, a living wage (without having to work 2 or 3 jobs or 60 hours a week), etc.? Think about it. I have and damn right I want those things for my family and friends. And I believe in treating my neighbor as myself.

It's even funnier that people believe anyone has attempted to try any of Marx's ideas.

Honest question -- just exactly how many such programs do you think a free market can afford before it completely stagnates or collapses outright especially considering each of your programs represents government takeover and control of yet another large segment of the existing free market.

Unregulated capitalism is bad. It needs some regulation and there is nothing wrong with government social programs or government control of some resources. Social programs ARE NOT a government takeover and won't lead to the downfall of the free market. That is a laughable notion. There are some businesses that SHOULD NOT be for profit. Privatizing government agencies almost always raises the cost of the service to the people that use it. Again, the military is a government agency, so that is technically a socialist program. If anything will lead to the collapse of the free market it will be hyper inflation caused by corporations not being regulated. Having government social programs is NOT the equivalent of economic socialism and is not even close.

Understand that this is how Venezuela got started. Chevaz too over, promised a lot of things to his people, nationalized large segments of the economy in order to provide them, and as things fell apart started taking over even more.

The US is not Venzuela and this is slippery slope fallacy. No reason to think US follows the same exact path or that it leads to the end of the free market. That's just scare tactics.

A socialism movement seems to be the legacy of unbridled capitalism. When 1% of the world holds 50% or more of the world's wealth and student debt is piling up, with no end in sight...coupled with the polluting of the world and the destruction of natural resources...well, what do you expect? Do you expect them to embrace the status quo?

Yet the most polluted countries in the world...ARE SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST...
The most corrupt governments in the world....ARE SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST...
The countries that have more poor people...ARE SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST...
The countries that have even less rich people who have more money...ARE SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST...

Implementing universal healthcare or cheaper higher education does not turn the US to SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST. Many free market countries with those social programs in place are among the best places to live in the world in all of those categories. This is alarmism, nothing more.

More Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged nonsense.

It's simply more efficient and economical to pay to keep the destitute, disabled and impoverished alive and well than having them wandering the streets scavenging and attacking other people to survive. Or to build prisons for all the criminals whose only crime is that they're so poor or ill they have no more options.

It's easier to blame the victims than actually do anything constructive. But what if it was your elderly mother who was too sick or financially limited to "pull her own weight?" It's not socialism. It's humanitarianism that also happens to make good economic sense.

typical older generations, destroy the environment, all the financial institutions, economy, politics, education and then blame the youth for it while espousing personal responsibility then telling everyone they should be happy with slavery because this isn't the Congo
