They didn't just "go away" because a crime was committed. Wether you like it or not, the law enforcement personel were not wrong in what they did. They treated it as a real case, and as such it has been proven to be a hoax thanks to dedicated police work.

Imagine if they said, we won't investigate, and then you have vigilante types out in the street to serve their own justice. How about if the police ended up arresting someone innocent and locking them up meanwhile Jussie was lying the whole time.

There are so many variables and things that could have went wrong. All in all, I would say the correct thing happened in the end.

I personally am eagerly awaiting Jussie's imminent statement which will probably be one of 3 things
a) apologies but I temporarily lost my marbles and did a stupid thing
b) You don't understand, I did this to show the world just how hard it is to live in America as a black gay actor
c) I'm innocent and I am a victim of police harassment of a black gay man which wouldn't have happened if I was white

We will see and no doubt see who still supports him despite the evidence and charges brought

I've been thinking more about this today. Now that my anger has subsided, I can only hope that the positive can come form this hoax. Let me explain. Perhaps, the next time, some people will not have a knee-jerk reaction, based upon emotion, and not riot in the streets. At least until the truth comes out and a verdict is issued. I don't expect a miracle, but if a subset of folks in the influential positions refrain from reacting then perhaps it can start the healing of this country.

Guess what Smollett is doing today on his Twitter. He's promoting his Mar. 2nd debut album.

This guy is sickening and a despicable excuse of a human being. The sad thing is that probably more people know who he is and will buy his stupid album. His next one will be even bigger and full of tirades about inequality and blah blah blah blah blah. Another Al Sharpton syndrome where instead of a career dying, you pull some fake shenanigans, and it jumps.

ETA: I hope the authorities take every dime he makes off his idiotic music sales to reimburse the City of Chicago.

As far as I've heard, his reason as testified by one of the "O brothers" was he wanted to be paid more for his role on 'Empire'. I found in this article that he was being paid $65,000 per episode, over 18 episodes. Therefore his annual salary is $1,170,000.00 !! And it seems that was not enough for this actor?? Really?

How many workers in Chicago, the city he just smeared, would settle for even half of that per year and be happy?
