Considering the time period he was deployed periodically in the military, during college, if true, I can believe he didn't get a yearbook. I never got a college yearbook, since I didn't think it was worth the effort at the time. Makes me wonder what is in there for me that I have not seen.

I can imagine if he was friendly with black guys at the time, a couple racist uppergrads would refer to him in a demeaning way as "coon man" (as in black lover). But that is just speculation on my part that is plausible enough to explain that nickname.
