He knew it would cost him.
He could have confronted it back in Sept or Oct and dealt with the fall out.
But I personally feel that you dont change your heart on matters like this.
This is the guy who would claim Im not racist but still tell a racist joke because its just a joke.

I moved to Petersburg in '72. Half the land was owned by a group of little old ladies whose grandparents had been famous people in the Civil War. They sat in rocking chairs popping Elavil pills all day. 80 year old women with Confederate flags and pictures throughout the house. They didn't feel they were racist just realistic. All gone today.

Growing up in Virginia, I would actually say that refers to him going Raccoon hunting more than it does racial matters. But what do I know? I just work with rednecks all day.

Because of his "vivid recollection" of putting on 'blackface' on another occasion...he doesn't believe he was one of the guys in the photo.

I am just not understanding. I never did understand racism people are people to me, but this was school. College kids. we have babies dressed up as real life serial killers for costumes and everyone seems ok with it.

Even if he had a rope around the smiling black I would still think College kids, stupid party, do people know the kinds of things med students do? they above all others need to release stress after learning to cut up dead bodies. My brother-in law attended Med school and has told me about it.
