This is an individual paper published in a medical journal and is not the general consensus of medical practitioners or the Endocrine Society. It does not have that weight.

It is merely the opinions and recommendations of the authors for such "gender dysphoria" treatment, distilled into a few pages. The paper had reviewers who suggested corrections and modifications. After publication, several corrections were published which are referred to in the link.

The authors do not question the concept of early treatments in pre-pubescent and pubescent children, they merely provide a protocol for doing so. The propaganda arm of the LGBTXYZ movement is pushing an agenda so that they can feel better about themselves. They shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children in schools; kids are confused enough as it is and they don't really need someone confusing them further.
When they are adults, and their brains have had a chance to mature a little more, they can pursue their desires on their own. They can get piercings, tattoos and other body modifications as they see fit on the drive to become unique individuals. I believe that being unique by body mods is often the only way they have.
There is definitely buyers remorse or maturation in many cases. Tattoo removal and allowing piercings to close come to mind as common reversions. Even Bruce Jenner may be having second thoughts about his surgery because he says he is still attracted to women.
I have only known two people who made the transition M to F. They both killed themselves within 10 years of the final surgeries. I do not know the reasons but they were obviously troubled their entire lives and their solutions, M to F, were apparently unsatisfactory.

Quite frankly it's exactly this kind of labeling and sticking everyone in boxes -- ridiculous stereotypes -- that contributes to the angst and confusion of ALL kids trying to grow up and make sense of themselves and the world, and especially kids experiencing gender dysphoria.

Knowledge is power and we know they are coming. It won't stop it from happening, but no one can say we weren't warned it would happen, either.

I think it would be better to condition our school kids to not pick on the students or others who are feminine if they are boys or who are tomboys if they are girls. We need to teach the kids to respect the rights and beliefs of others and to not be so overenthused by hormone quantities in people that express some masculine or feminine traits. In school back in the seventies some girls would drool over guys masculinity while some guys would drool over a girls hips and tits. This idolizing of masculinity and feminity is old, going back thousands of years. Hollywood actually promotes these kinds of hormone driven people in their movies and shows. They convince our youth that beauty is the only thing we should focus on, nobody is good unless they are a goddess or a hunk.

So, kids with this problem are conditioned by society that they are not good enough to be who they are. Fix the problem, do not treat the symptom. If Christianity failed to correct this, I do not think that our government will be able to fix it. Cheerleaders and sports in school promotes idolation of certain qualities in people. Now the nerds are taking over and overreacting to the issue and causing a swing in the wrong direction to occur. I guess nerds in society are not nerdy enough to see everything, maybe they should Join ATS to get some help in getting more insight.

I wish with all my heart that this was "fake." And I'm sure that the folks suffering the painful consequences of all this more than just "wish" it were fake.

I actually come at this from the perspective of a woman and a mother who has had to deal with related health issues, so because our health issues overlap to a great extent with "gender affirmation" therapy -- i.e., female reproductive systems and hormones gone wrong -- I learned about the problems with Lupron, for example, because of its use to treat endometriosis. And I immediately warned my daughter not to take it if it was ever prescribed by her doctor.

If I don't want my own daughter taking it, for health issues totally unrelated to gender dysphoria, why on earth would I think it's okay for anyone else's kid??? I wouldn't.

It's not the kids who need fixing. It's society. All the stereotypes and labels and boxes need to go. Let kids be who they want to be. Let adults be who they want to be. No chemicals or surgery is necessary.

And this applies across the board, not just to transgender issues.

The outright hostility and vitriol for women by the Trans Activists -- particularly male to female transgenders -- has been one of the biggest shocks to me. And it was a big eye opener to the sinister underbelly of it all.
