Pol Pot was willing to make some sacrifices ‘for the greater good’. I’m sure that her supporters believe AOC is a great leader, just like Pol Pot’s supporters thought he was.

I’m not saying I don’t agree with her that serious measures need to be taken in order to avoid disaster in relation to pollution and scarcity brought about by human influences on the world and our environment.

But to socialists, ‘making sacrifices for the greater good’ means serious oppression of certain groups of people.
I could imagine the types of restrictions she will be envisioning for society. But those restrictions aren’t really the issue.
The issue is what measures are taken to ensure that people adhere to those restrictions? What measures are taken to enforce those restrictions? What punishment is given to those who do not wish to comply or dare to resist? What atrocities will be committed to rid society of non-conformists?

The true outcomes of socialism are: oppression and atrocities.
ALL socialism. ‘Democratic socialism’ will 100% lead to oppression and atrocities. Very very quickly. Like ALL socialism.

We do need to do something about the negative effects we have on the planet. Some fairly drastic changes need to be made. And fairly soon. I’m sure there are very few people who disagree with that.

But....
You don’t put a shotgun in your mouth to cure a headache. You don’t vote for socialism to cure climate-change.

Extreme oppression and terrible atrocities. That’s the outcome of a socialist government. ALL types of socialist government.

Oppose Trump all you want, it’s good to oppose. But don’t support socialism. Your descendants will hate you for it.

According to my local research, I cautiously predicted 10 or so until we hit the crest of the present warming trend and start to drop back down. I guess maybe someone has better data than I do; I still haven't been able to run an FFT analysis to pinpoint the exact cresting date yet (had a USB port go out and it overloaded the whole thing).
